Promises is the ecstatic centrepiece of The Presets’ stunning 3rd record, Pacifica, and the new single.
Promisescomes correct with remixes by Lifelike, Plastic Plates and Luomo, plus a sublime atmospheric piano rework by German composer Nils Frahm. The Promises package is OUT NOW digitally on all platforms.
French producer and long term Presets comrade Lifelike again turns in a stellar gyrating dancefloor workout, subtly extending and teasing out the originals ecstasy for maximum effect.
Enigmatic Finnish producer Sasu Ripatti signed on under his deep, modern disco alias Luomo to remix Promises into a darker, slightly unsettling cousin of the original.
Sydney via LA producer Plastic Plates aka Felix Bloxsom does what he's been doing terribly well lately, and turns Promises into a lush, uplifting spacey disco number for dreamier dancefloors. Fun fan fact - Bloxsom was for a time the drummer in an early three man incarnation of The Presets.
Pacifica, the new album from The Presets, is out worldwide now.
Dimitri Kechagias review: The Presets are certainly one of those bands that have something fresh to say and they found the way through music to communicate it to their audience. Their new single is the electro pop anthem Promises with inspired significant lyrics and feel good optimism. The remix package is the finest you can get with Lifelike servicing a nearly 8 minutes electro pop/prog house version that is luscious, blissful, relaxing, and chilling perfect to play on a Sunday afternoon at home while you put the puzzle pieces together ready to start another hard week at work. Plastic Plates is more upfront really groovy, playful and the one that can be used as warm up track in a cool prog house/electro house set and get the crowd nodding their heads and whispering the lyrics too. Luomo remix is a magnificent tech house/experimental house translation that uses cool melodic synthy layers, techy beats, distorted basslines, even some breaks and choped vocal parts in order to build a colourful and really magical hypnotic soundscape. Highly recommended. Love IT!
