Making us drown in their beats ever since their ‘Light The Skies’ burst onto the scene, Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren present the next piece off their debut album. The colourful, warm ‘Give Me A Sound’, along with the three winning remixes of the official remix contest, now see the light of day.

In May 2012, after 6 years of collaborating, the debut album of US trio Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren was a fact. ‘Give Me A Sound’ rides that significant C,M&J sound that so many have gone to love. Diverse and surprising, the title-track to the album provided a solid base for upcoming producers to create their very own version, in the official ‘Give Me A Sound’ remix contest. Three winners were named, so next to the stunning original, it’s time for you to discover the remixes of Brad & Victor H., Sayphonik and Hristian Hristov.

It wasn’t an easy pick for Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren, but luckily the talented trio has found its winners. The big winner and absolute number 1 of the remix contest is the remix of Canadian duo Brad & Victor H. They are responsible for a powerful and trancy interpretation with a piano driven break, making it absolutely fit for big-room purposes.

Sayphonik, the moniker of L.A.-based Phillip Saypanya, provided a playful and deep prog-trance remix with break-beat intermezzo’s, making it to number 2. Last but not least, there’s the warm, melodic and sun-drenched prog-house remix of Bulgarian producer Hristian Hristov. He’s the number 3 winner in the remix competition, once again proving that new talent is everywhere!

Dimitri Kechagias review:  Definitely the way to move the scene forward and grow is to organise remix competitions and allow the new blood to come in and deliver a remix that you didn't expect to get even in your dreams from the well known remixers. Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren decided to organise a remix competition for the superb breaks track in their album  Give Me A Sound. The original is a travelling sweet melancholic breaks track that is perfect for those after tough clubbing hours when you go back home and you want to chill out a bit. Im very impressed from the winners and the 3 top ones included on the single release that is out on S107.  Congratulations to the winners Brad & Victor H who recreate the original into a peak time monster tune that follows the progressive trance sound with tribal trance beats and house infusions too. Excellent breakdown with mega huge synths will drive the crowd crazy while they will sing a long to the dj "Give Us A Sound".  For sure this version will put Brad & Victor H in the map of the scene. Sayphonic deliver a magnificent deep progressive trance version that has unique feel and character. It is warm, sensitive with deep basslines, feel good electronic style blippy melodies that is an ear massage for sure. The breakdown is quality with the excellent vocals by Jaren and with breaks/dubstep influenced sequence to make you dream and travel without moving. The climax includes deep basslines, big synths and beautiful piano melodies on top. Last but not least Hristian Hristov provides a well balanced remix as well on the blissful melodic progressive trance side that has real emotion with drive, energy and dynamism along with excellent progression of all the elements. First class production that will recall moments of the big epic progressive trance classics for sure.  The breakdown reveals the big rave style distorted synthy riff perfect to drop in a BIG ROOM and use it as peak timer. The choice was hard for sure if we judge from the quality of these 3 remixes that manage to make it on this single. Love IT!
