Since the beginning of DJ culture, Sting has been the voice of sampling-choice for many producers, and new bootleg versions of his popular songs still surface at an ever constant rate. But an official Dance Music release baring the 16-time Grammy Award winner's name is rare. Last year, however, The Scumfrog received approval to remake "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You," and we're proud to present the amazing result of this long awaited project.

The Scumfrog (aka Jesse Houk) is mostly known for his underground flavored remixes of artists like Missy Elliott, New Order, Kylie Minogue, and Annie Lennox, and his collaborations writing/producing techno oriented works with David Bowie and Cyndi Lauper. With his versions of “If I Ever Lose My Faith,” The Scumfrog has returned to his deep house roots, while still giving the main vocal mix his signature mass appeal.  A new Scumfrog album celebrating the deeper and techier side of Dance Music is due later this year on Armada Music. As a DJ, he has toured the world many times over, and since 2009 he hosts a weekly radio show/podcast Glam Scum International.

And then there are the remixes! With 50 years of musical passion in his pocket, the relentless energy of living legend Carl Cox has yet to fade. But would it ever? We’d say no, witnessing the big, techy drive and deep bass that haunts his remix. Beckers (from D-Nox & Beckers) delivers a top-notch hypnotic journey for the tech-house lovers, and German tastemakers Kruse & Nuernberg round off the pack with amazing, forward thinking Deep House.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Armada Music, The Best Global Dance Label,  presents the next big GLOBAL anthem that will be played by many djs from wide variety of musical backgrounds and will crossover easily to wide variety of audiences from the younger ones to the older.  The Scumfrog reworks in the most effective way the classic pop track If I Ever Lose My Faith by Sting who has always been a real anti star who is 100% devoted to his art. Because of his open minded approach, he seems that he allows younger producers to sample his tracks and create something totally new with them. The Scumfrog vocal mix is an excellent sensual deep tech tribal house excursion with bubbly beats, rocking basslines and cool melodic layers that build the right atmosphere for the meaningful lyrics to get a new life again. Its an anthem perfect to drop at the peak time and watch the crowd going ballistic. There is a dub version as well to enjoy just the beats without words.  The remix package is extensive and the finest you can get for a high quality package. Carl Cox who is a real dynamite behind the decks recreates the original with  his tribal pumping banging grooves as he conceived a thunderous hands in the air anthem perfect for heavy use on the harder floors. Beckers remix is a deep floating hypnotic house version with ethnic exotic infusions and bubbly warm beats.  This version has a certain mysticism and spirituality as well that highlights the deep meaning of the lyrics. Lastly Kruse & Nuernberg Remix is an imaginative tech house cracker with disco house influences and old school balearic acid house feel to it. It's a summery and very different for sure.  Absolutely Essential and high  quality release with a massive package of mixes. It deserves to crossover to mainstream charts as well. Love iT!
