If you have ever been to any big EDM festival in the past two years, chances are you've heard at least one Ken Loi bootleg or mashup. This Californian DJ & producer's works has been supported and played all over the world by such artists as Tiesto, Kaskade, Markus Schulz, Martin Solveig, Marcel Woods, Steve Aoki, and many more. With an all star cast of remixers including Mizar B, Happy Paul, Biotones, and Alex Drayling, Fuzzy Recordings is proud to debut Ken Loi's new and original progressive single "Witness". First up, the original from Ken includes a playful and yet groovy intro which catches your attention right away. The chords are warm, uplifting, and sprinkled with a bit of ping pong delay and reverb FX. Essential ingredients to any progressive gem dish. Mr. Loi ceases to amaze us with his diversity and talent in music production and is definitely an artist to keep a close eye on. Mizar B's Nashira EP was just released on Fuzzy Recordings about a month prior and he's already back to provide a brilliant and spacey remix. The breakdown is simply an experience worth sitting back, closing your eyes, and letting the track take hold of you. With a strong bassline, atmospheric pads, and vocal stutters, Biotone's revision of the track brings a little bit of tasteful darkness to the palate. Isolating the chords and lead melodies for the breakdowns definitely makes you appreciate the beauty and complexity behind this track. Happy Paul's remix starts off with a punchy kick and catchy drum pattern that will have you anticipating the rest of the track. Once the chords and bassline rolls in and you hear that iconic huge reverbed snare on the 8th note you'll know that this track means business. The breakdown features an innovative wobbly bassline with harmonic piano chords in which you have to hear for yourself to believe. Alex Drayling brings a hardcore peak hour electronic version of the track incorporating heavy chords, lead, and a rocky bassline. Alex keeps you're full attention throughout his remix by including clever looping, stuttering, and beat chopping effects that will have you wanting more!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Its great to see brand new record labels coming up and delivering wonderful tunes like Fuzzy recordings. Their latest EP by the well known producer Ken Loi is called Witness and is supported by an extended remix package. Original mix is a beautiful melodic prog house meets trance hybrid that can crossover to both styles with electro and some nu rave touches as well. Mizar B remix is 8 minutes upfront prog trance euphoria perfect for the peak moment of your prog trance set. Great breakdown with feel good melodies and wonky basslines. It will make you feel uplifted for sure. Biotones remix is deeper darker with uplifting breakdown and cool subtle main part. Happy Paul remix is relentless building up with cool progression in it in a very playful happy manner. Lastly Alex Drayling remix sounds the tougher and the more driving on the whole package perfect for your proglifting trance sets. Quality release that should not be missed. Like IT!
