Nafis presents his debut single for the Songbird imprint, entitled “My Way To You”.

The young Russian producer from Kazan already issued various singles and publishes a wide variety of his upcoming tracks on his Soundcloud page. The elusive Nafis will certainly put his name on the map once his productions will hit the world’s dance floors. Now for the Songbird imprint he delivered “My Way To You”; a bright, positive, genuinely uplifting and well arranged trance cut that adds a new flavour to the current output of state of the art trance. Creating a fragile atmosphere built on a not-too-fast BPM, Nafis programs his arpeggiated synth lines carefully into the soundstage of his production; a tailor made cut with references to Tiësto’s early ISOS mix compilations.

For the packed late night sessions Nafis returned to the original and gave it a thorough overhaul with additional synth arrangements and an altogether more powerful break and climax. With “My Way To You” Nafis may very well make his breakthrough!



Dimitri Kechagias review: Songbird is always faithful to its roots as a label on the lengendary compilation series In Search of Sunrise. If you can recall the sound of this compilations the music that Nafis is composing follows exactly the same path and his first release on Songbird is a superb adventure within the blissful melodic grounds of progressive trance. My Way To You comes in two great versions to choose from and indulge with for your sets. The original mix is a wonderful music journey that follows the laidback balearic style that drives the music forward with little melodic layers but the real magic happens when you land on the breakdown. Superb ambient atmosphere, chorus style female vocals and sweet piano melody that will calm your spirit for a while before the journey continues on the main part. Perfect for home listening and to warm up your clubbers in a nice progressive trance set by adding a cinematic warm atmosphere. The beauty gets even better on the superb Midnight Star remix. The kickdrum and all the elements seems to come better together with added drive and intensity but of course on the same cool and colourful tempo. What I really like is that now a brand new balearic guitar melody is added that reminds me the superb melodies composed by Torsten Stenzel's project York. When that breakdown arrives better close the eyes and let yourself feel under your skins and deep in the bones the superb guitar melody, the huge uplifting synths performing an epic melody that will lead the track to the main part for that proglifting climax. Great progressive sounds that open our hunger for more from the hands of Nafis. Love It!
