REVIEW: Mell Tierra - Eagle Beach incl Re-Zone remix on Avanti/Black Hole

01. Eagle Beach
02. Eagle Beach (Re-Zone Remix)

At the age of 14 Mell Tierra already got his first gigs behind the decks at local events. Only two years later he became a resident DJ for several venues throughout The Netherlands and has since then played Panama, The Mansion, Westergasfabriek (Amsterdam), Club Rembrandt (Eindhoven), Lexion (Westzaan), Sneakerz Muzik, Amsterdam Dance Event and the infamous FFWD Dance Parade (Rotterdam).

Mell has so for released tracks on Big & Dirty Records, Spinnin', Flamingo Recordings, Sneakerz Muzik, Nervous, Blackhole Recordings and Samsobeats; some of his titles made it to over 30 successful mixcompilations like DJ Jean's Madhouse, Chuckie's Dirty Dutch Aftershock, Sony Houseparty, Slam FM Clubbin’, Sneakerz and Nope is Dope.

With “Eagle Beach” Mell drops his debut single on the Avanti imprint. Backed by an additional Re-Zone Remix, “Eagle Beach” ignites the dance floor in a club lead house style that keeps up the party atmosphere with some serious beats and hyped up synths.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Avanti is back and its time for more healthy nutritious and very delicious pieces of progressive house on that distinctive and stand out Avanti flavor. Mell Tiera is a wonderful dj and producer who loves his profession and you can sense that when you listen for instance his latest tune on Avanti called Eagle Beach. Just reserve some space in your peak time choices cause this will go straight away within the big tunes of the night. Extra Huge epic progressive house sounds for the big rooms who search for something special that stands out. Driving playful basslines, tough latin influenced progressive beats and that big room synthy melody on top. The breakdown is long and teasing perfect to allow that melody to work its way within our subconscious and then to splash all over the place in the main uplifting part. Re-Zone on the other hands provides an equally impressive remix that combines elements of electro house and in the breakdown reveals a heavy dose of dubstep as well. Also Re-Zone add a very cool spoken male vocal sample that serve as organic element of the track to push the proceedings forward. What is more in the breakdown along with the dubstep beats you get a brand new Balearic guitar riff as well and in a later moment of the track they add even a cool piano sample as well. I love the way that they changed the track completely and make something very personal out of it. Creative and inspiring sound. Love It!
