REVIEW: Rosie Romero & Ben Malone - Back Up Again on Avanti/Black Hole

01. Back Up Again

The UK Based female DJ Rosie Romero always had a passion for making music from a young age. Her first love of classical composition saw her develop her piano playing skills, making Grade 6 by the time she hit high school. It was when Zoo Brazil asked Rosie to remix his track "You Can Have It All" for the Magik Muzik imprint that her status as a producer gained momentum.

Rosie’s sound can be described as Grooving Jackin' Techno, with elements of Progressive and Tech House resulting in the "The Romero Sound". For her new single, Rosie collaborated with Ben Malone, who got his first break when world renowned DJ/Producer Sonny Wharton chose Ben's single "O.C.D." as the opening track for his "Exploring UK" mix compilation. Ben's 2011 remix of "Afterhours" by Ant Brooks finally put his name on the world map.

Rosie joined forces with Ben to produce "Back Up Again", a massive floorfiller on the trance tip, however slightly moving away from Rosie's trademark sound, with respectively house and tech elements.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Rosie Romero is back on Avanti and for sure we are pretty excited as she loves her sound and she is always trying to develop and progress her style even further. Her latest one Back Up Again is a very cool co-production with  Ben Malone for a superb slice of progressive house that loves trance melodies and incorporate  them in the best possible way. The result is a stand out track that epic prog house djs can adopt easily without second thought in their sets but will be no surprise if we see trance djs as well using this top track as a warm up choice in their upfront sets. Except the very cool and characteristic trance theme the track includes a cool spoken  vocal sample repeating again and again the title of it. With drive to die for, with groovy and funky edges tied up with the big epic trance theme Back Up Again is an interesting story that unfolds as we speak and more and more djs globally will discover its massive impact on the dancefloor. Melodic prog house at its very best! Love It!.
