REVIEW: The BeatThiefs & Rosie Romero - Footstomp out on Mono-Type Records

1.Original
2. Seb Fontaine & Vern Remix

The BeatThiefs have steadily been on the rise over the past year after there single 'Umbungo' hit the top of many DJs and online store charts. It was used by Pioneer to launch the CDJ 850K as well as being featured on Defected, Ministry of Sound and Flamingo Compilations. Here we see the 2 Hat Club Residents team up with one of the busiest DJ's on the professional circuit 'Rosie Romero". A genuine dj/producer if there ever was one Rosie has collabs and credits galore with the likes of 303 Lovers, Todd Terry, John Dahlback, Roger Sanchez, Fanciulli and Zoo Brazil all supporting her productions.

Footstomp has all the elements combined to do the business. A solid original version with an authentic jacking vibe. Seb and Vern turn it into a proper heads down affair while pushing those Inner city styled stabs to the limit.

Dimitri Kechagias review: The superb duo The BeatThiefs team up with Rosie Romero for a strong club track that can be widely labelled as progressive house but its definitely more than just one thing. There are many influences in play with traces of latin tribal house, disco house and melodic house too. It has relentless development, intensity, energy and most importantly its full of sound surprises. Its really unique and very special of course without hyping and exaggeration. It includes Middle East melodies, Spanish vocal samples, and on top a big saxophone riff to add some cool jazzy sprinkles too. On remix duties are Seb Fontaine & Vern who always know what the dancefloor demands as a result of their extensive experience behind the decks worldwide. Their remix takes the track on a classic UK house territory transforming the original into a bubbly wobbly bouncy peak time spanker that will get you dancing without even noticing it. They apply old acid house school samples and the various melodic layers of the original and they even deliver their own  brand new melodic riff to make this version to stand out by far. Two top versions ready make for the peak time moments of your set. Underground is still alive! Love It!
