Dave Horne makes a welcome return to the Alter Ego stables with a new double headed single. Dropping the goods for release 44 on the progressive imprint, Dave reminds us why his progressive tones are regarded so highly.
Light & Dark and 11 Hours are two sophisticated progressive bombs sparkling with unique sounds and flavors that really leave a lasting impression.
Light & Dark is a groovy and quirky affair with a very classic inspired theme and sound set which compliments the fresh and current production from Dave. Chunky and feel good, don't miss this one!!
11 Hours is equally as groovy but more melodically driven, with layers of lavish summery plucks and guitar stabs. Dave uses rhythm to great affect, with both instruments and percussion. Real summer in the winter vibes from this rising UK producer!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Dave Horne is definitely a rising star in the scene and I'm glad that Alter Ego records offer him the chance to amaze the global audiences with his warm progressive trance meets progressive house sound. Really versatile and unique Dave proves that he has the background knowledge of the EDM and he applies it in great effect in order to build his own very unique and characteristic sound. Light and Dark is a beautiful epic progressive trance track with bubbly beats, driving basslines in quite playful way. His breakdown is massive as the sweety melancholic piano part is followed by a huge uplifting synths part that really sound like seeing the light bit by bit when you are inside a tunnel and you try to get out of it and reach the warm rays of light. 11 Hours reminds me a lot of the great British progressive house sound of the 90s particularly on the style of the melodies he uses and also that female vocodered vocal sample that take us back on a time travel through the modern eyes and ears of 2012. Optimistic and hopeful serves the reason that music is conceived. To bring some light in our dark lives. Quality release that should be part of your digital collection. Love It!
