REVIEW: John O' Callaghan - Unfold (The Remixes) (E.P. 1) on Subculture

1. John O'Callaghan - Stresstest (John Askew Remix)
2.John O'Callaghan & Guiseppe Ottaviani - Ride The Wave (Will Atkinson Remix)
3. John O'Callaghan - Physick Sensor (Mark Young & Damo Kay Remix)

Each of the 14 musical pieces a future classic in their own right, made John O’Callaghan’s ‘Unfold’ album a real highlight in the career of the Irish mastermind. Now that the extended versions of his third artist album have done their round, it’s time for some brand new interpretations with the ‘Unfold - The Remixes’ E.P. 1!

In this E.P. , the dark and thundering ‘Stresstest’ gets a no nonsense hammering club mix from John Askew, this one is KILLER.

John’s collab with Giuseppe Ottaviani, ‘Ride The Wave’, has received a lush and acidic remix from Scotland's Will Atkinson.
With a breakdown to die for and a climax to match, it's no wonder this remix is one of the hottest in the pack.

Last but not least, the Mark Young & Damo Kay remix of ‘Psychic Sensor’ takes the original and kicks it around into a peak time stomper, this climax has sent several dance floors wild in John's recent sets.

Guaranteed mayhem.

These 3 are the pick of the bunch, get on it!

Dimitri Kechagias review: Unfold by John O Callaghan was certainly one of the best uplifting trance albums of 2011. Its time now for the remix edition to come out and its going to be a huge one. The new versions revealed on great EP's for the trance jocks to enjoy. First of all the excellent UK trance meister John Askew provides a superb remix on Stresstest. Its powerful, banging, energetic and energising with a breakdown that the dancefloor will be difficult not to take notice. So expect your crowd to go totally and utterly wild when that one will be droped on a classic tried and tested John Askew style. John O'Callaghan & Guiseppe Ottaviani collaboration Ride The Wave that had big success when was first out is recreated by Will Atkinson who service the fans of tough  acid trance an anthem to play and get out of their heads completely. The breakdown is long and pleasurable with the beautiful piano melody, the huge synth riffs, the amazing ups and drops keep glued on the speakers. The main part is a real climax on its true trance sense. Uplifting trance as it should be done that manage to take the original one level higher for sure. Last but not least the awesome  Mark Young & Damo Kay transform the dark  Physick Sensor into an unforgettable roller coaster of the finest quality with hard and tech trance influences in place. Even old school style spoken vocal samples on a massive version that utilises the elements of the original in the best possible way in order to deliver the goods. Wicked EP not for the weak hearted. This is Trance, Love IT!
