We are ready for 2012 and so we want to start this year with no one else then our mastermind and soundwizard from italy "Gai Barone".
After his massive "Amygdala" release which gained huge respect and support across all genre djs, he returns with a track called "Alicudi".
It's hard to describe it but I recommend you to watch the video teaser before reading the review. It's pure magic!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Afterglow is one of the most respected and highly regarded record labels in the whole world and this is not matter of luck but the result of hard work and continous strive to find and release only the finest and most forward thinking EDM music. Its sister label Afterglow deep goes for the progressive side of trance and house and the 1st release comes from the exceptional Italian maestro Gai Barone who has the ability with his deep and sensual sounds to create thousands consecutive mental images while you listen and dance in his compositions. His latest offering is an EP of two great tracks. Alicudi that I guess from its title that is dedicated to the well known Island with the same name in Italy is a balearic progressive trancer meets house track that has the usual deep basslines and of course mesmerizing melodies on top to get your mind traveling. The breakdown is so beautiful with heavenly melodies, angelic voices and classical music strings until the exceptional beat comes back for the big uplifting climax on the way that only Gai knows so better trust him to guide you to Alicudi Island. On the other side The Bloque is a deep progressive house track with tech house and the usual deep trance influences. Its 10 minutes journey through the darkest labyrinth of our minds so rich and complex with ambient sounds and noises that you need more than 10 times to listen it in order to understand and distinguish all the sound layers and start listening all of them. There are short breakdowns with warm melodies that slowly fade away in favor of the more metalic sounds. The Bloque is the more darker tribalish prog house track perfect for long and dark sets. Love IT!
