REVIEW: Hit My Ego by Cicada out on Critical Mass

1-Cicada Original Edit
2- My Digital Enemy Remix
3-My Digital Enemy Inst.

4-Blackhill remix
5-Cicada remix

Cicada are back with the next Gem from recently released album Sunburst.

Co written and featuring the vocals of Joel Pott from Athlete the original is one of the standout tracks from the album with shades of new wave, early eighties New York and a dash of Talking Heads thrown in whisked up with Cicada's trademark production, tough and funky bassline and angular guitar work.
As ever the remix package provides the tools needed for all dancefloors. Rising stars My Digital Enemy lay it down tough and funky with a rolling bassline and a riff not a million miles away from Alcatraz's 'Give me Luv'. pure peaktime heaven.

Cicada with their original edit which is a little tougher than you might expect.. all rattling drums, room shaking bass and seething acid.

Blackhill take to the remix stage with a mid paced gem. Since having his first release, as part of Third Party, signed to Steve Angello's Size Records, Sheldon has gone from strength to strength. Venturing out on his own solo career, he recently remixed Fred Falke's 'Look In To Your Eyes' for Kris Menace's Work It Baby, had an original track together with Mark Storie released on Toolroom Records and is currently working on a host of original production and remixes.

Cicada do what they do best and provide us with a full on 303 laden bleep orientated mix for the heavier sessions.
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most consistent projects returns after their superb Cars with the equally mesmerizing and really sweet Hit My Ego. If you love quality deep house sounds with warm melodies and 80's romanticism then you will adore this brand new track that clubs and radio stations will equally embrace. The original edit has great class, coolness and quality that should be noted. It has that funk and rocky edge to keep ears pluged for sure. My Digital Enemy that always keep the levels really high provide a stunning version that has the word peak time written all over. Its dynamic to exhaust you on the dancefloor in order to produce a lot of sweat and loose some kilos too. Prepare to trash your egos and act crazy with this anthem when will be on in your favorite club. Blackhill deliver a playful version with plenty of wide variety of influences from tech house to funk and jazz everything is droped in the same meltin pot in order to deliver something unique and very special. Cicada remix is tougher with superb percussion and mad acid overtones to get us under its commands and dance non stop like real EDM lovers do. Like IT!
