REVIEW: Banco De Gaia - Farewell Ferengistan (Levente rmx) out on Baroque

1-Banco De Gaia - Farewell Ferengistan  (Levente rmx)

Im sure Banco De Gaia will need no introduction to the majority of people. Toby Marks, the creative force behind Banco De Gaia, is one of the worlds leading exponents of globally inspired eclectic electronica. Mixing electronic and accoustic instruments and voices. Banco De Gaia cut his teeth on the early 90s , and his numerous albums since then, have hit number 1 in the UK charts and been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.. so we are very proud to release this single on Baroque

Levente currently resides in San Francisco, capable of both. moody & dark moments or floaty & uplifting.. his style is very unique and extremely engaging.. he loved the original of this tune so much, that he just had to remix it, and what you hold in your hands is the result.

a clean beat intro quickly gives way to that moving melody line from and then the bass squeezes in, clever production & clanky industrial percs give the groove some depth before layers of moving melodies glide. The ethnic effected vocal lifts the tune again as the mix drops and builds.. losing the melodies then bringing them to the fore once again.. it really is stunning stuff

Thanks to both Banco De Gaia and Levente for letting us bring this one back

Dimitri Kechagias review: If you are into quality electronic dance music you should be aware and even in love with Banco De Gaia and their eclectic sound. Im so glad that Baroque brings this magic track in the modern dancefloors with the top talent Levente from USA. This producer is really charismatic and you can see it manifested really clearly in this make over of that epic Banco de Gaia track. Travelling and inspiring its definitely music that passes style and genre boundaries so prog house or prog trance djs will equally love it. All the melodic layers, the ethnic vocals, the quirky playful bassline and beat definitely make this track pleasure to dance or to listen at home and relax. Of course I wish more Banco De Gaia tracks to be released on Baroque touched from the hands of the Baroque artists. Who doesnt want to see back again the massive Last Train To Lhasa featured on the first and most influential Northern Exposure mix cd, that whenever I still listen to it makes me very sensitive and I can even cry as well. Music always affects me that way.  Thanks Keith and Baroque team for this great track!
