REVIEW: Super8 & Tab "Empire: Remixed" out Now on Anjunabeats

Firmly established as Anjunabeats best selling artists behind Above & Beyond, Super8 & Tab rose to the AAA List of the trance scene with last year’s “Empire” album. An 11 track journey that ranged from reflective downtempo moments to peak-time anthems, “Empire” left Mixmag “blown away on first listen”.

Featuring remixes from global big hitters like Gareth Emery, Kyau & Albert, 4 Strings, Rank 1, and Lange, “Empire: Remixed” now brings their masterful debut into fresh focus - offering 11 re-energised reworks that cover everything from groove-fuelled progressive house to epic trance and even uplifting drum & bass.

The iTunes Special Edition also includes additional tracks in the sought-after Adam Nickey remix of “Irufushi”, Alex Kunnari’s previously unreleased “Mercy” remix and Mike Shiver's Garden State mix of "Empire" itself – as well as an exclusive DJ mix from Super8 & Tab. A standard iTunes edition of the album is also available.

For those that favour physical product, we also have a strictly limited run of 500 signed copies of the standard album - each signed by Super8 & Tab. order here

Dimitri Kechagias review: The top UK trance label headed by Above and Beyond, the always on top Anjunabeats comes back with a new album must have for any progressive/uplifting/tech trance lover or to any listener who want to get a taste of what is hot at the clubs and what makes really people dance. Super 8 & Tab – Empire is considered as a stand out trance album and manage to get many tracks from it released as stand alone singles. The announcement that a remix edition will be released soon made happy many fans of the great Finish duo. This week the wait is over as the great remixes album  is out and ready to conquer the download charts. First of all the Israeli producer Maor Levi gets on grip with Show to Learn. He manage to produce a truly epic prog trance meets tech trance version with great breakdown and amazing distorted synths that lead the track to its climax. The upcoming Protoculture transforms into his own style the very successful single Black is the New Yellow. He takes the original into his luscious prog velvety trance territory and with amazing drops designs his sound like an architect in total harmony. Just check how the unforgettable lead of the original becomes a ‘Protoculture’ style melody. Gareth Emery who lately even remixed Britney Spears delivers an amazing electro trance version with beautiful chopped and squeezed vocals in his own style. Gareth is at his best for sure in this remix.  Sunny Lax never fails to impress us too. He takes the sensual and really erotic Free Love and turn it into a playful prog lifting trancer with twists and turns and many electro styled effects that makes this version really groovy and danceable. The always outstanding Lange provides a really beautiful and exceptional remix on Good Times with the USA based vocalist  Betsie  Larkin. Once again Lange add his crispy sharp electro trance beats and basslines and he outdone himself in the breakdown as he adds a truly classical music melody and big strings and synths to create the ultimate and really EPIC atmosphere. Trance at its best and more creative of course. Jaytech put his hands on Eternal Sequence adding a very bouncy electro styled bassline providing a really funky chunky underground gem to dance. Jaytech sounds more mature and ready to go from the deep to the peak time moments of any progressive set. My Enemy is remixed by Rank 1 who start their remix with a large intro part were the vocals of Julie shine and dominate us all. So special and spacious remix that is definitely one of the tracks that is considered already as classic in the Anjunabeats catalogue. Kyau & Albert who currently ride high with their awesome version of the Above’s & Beyond forthcoming hit single Got To Go provide another playful progressive meets uplifting meets tech trance version of Mercy with Jay Burton on vocal duties. The uplifting fans will adore the full on and straight to the point feel good uplifting trance version of Mercy by 7 Skies. The classic and really well known Dutch producer and Dj 4 Strings give us a serious slice of uplifting trance but through the Dutch spectrum remix of Bliss as he utilizes in the best possible way the fantastic melody and turn it into an EPIC monster size end of the night Anthem. If you like the dreamy loungy dark drum n bass sounds then you will adore the MRSA take on Perfect Day. This is the best possible way to finish off this album and open up the music horizons to other great styles as well. Anjunabeats bring us an awesome remix album with only the finest interpretations of the inspirational  Empire album.
