Progressive House Review: Miro - Paradise (Quivver remix) out on UV Retrospection 002

UV Hits No. 1 on Beatport Progressive House Chart with Quivver Remix of Miro’s ‘Paradise’

UV is proud to announce that the label has reached the Number 1 spot on the Beatport Progressive House chart with the Quivver remix of Miro’s iconic track, Paradise.

Miro, the legendary electronic music duo consisting of Mads Arp and Steen Thottrup, has been a defining presence in the scene since 1990. The duo first made waves with Energy / Mystery on Coma Records in 1991, and their move to London solidified their reputation with Pure Silk on Effective Records – a Pete Tong “Essential New Tune” that also charted in the UK. With performances at venues like Ministry of Sound and Pumpehuset, and releases on influential labels like Hooj Choons, Miro has long been a staple in both the club and chillout circles. Their productions have been featured on iconic compilations such as Café del Mar, Buddha Bar, and Les Bains Douches.

The chart-topping remix comes courtesy of John Graham, better known as Quivver, a revered DJ and producer with a career spanning over 25 years. Recognized as one of the world’s most versatile electronic artists, Quivver has appeared on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list for five consecutive years. His productions, from Twist & Shout and Believe in Me to Mumbo Jumbo, Takin Over, and the anthemic I’m Bob, have become staples in every top DJ’s playlist. Beyond his Quivver guise, Graham has released under monikers including Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof, and Tilt, and continues to explore darker, experimental sounds via his Controlled Substance imprint.

This latest success underscores UV’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge progressive house and providing a platform for world-class artists to shine.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]Miro’s iconic track Paradise receives a spectacular transformation in the hands of progressive house legend Quiver, who delivers a 124 BPM remix that is both a faithful homage and a bold reinterpretation. The remix immediately captivates with its deep anthemic basslines and chunky grooves, underpinned by thumping kicks and rich, organic percussion. Quiver’s sound design showcases meticulous attention to rhythmic detail, ensuring that the groove and drive of the track remain unrelenting while maintaining a fluid energy flow. His layering of melodic hooks and harmonic textures creates an immersive sonic universe, with the euphoric synth theme from the original gracefully woven in to maintain emotional resonance and instant recognition. From a production standpoint, the remix demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship in transitions, drops, and build-ups, providing a seamless narrative flow that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. The use of effects and spatial design is both subtle and effective, adding depth and dimension to the soundstage without overwhelming the core elements. The track’s dynamic range is finely balanced, achieving the loudness necessary for club and festival play while preserving clarity and preventing listener fatigue. Each element—from the kick to the atmospheric pads—is carefully placed to ensure cohesion and storytelling, allowing the remix to function as a high-energy centerpiece in any DJ set with outstanding intro and outro structures for smooth mixing. The originality of Quiver’s arrangement shines, as he breathes modern life into a classic without losing its timeless charm. His creative decisions around cue points and loop potential make it a versatile tool for DJs, while the steady BPM consistency ensures tight synchronization with other tracks. The remix’s emotional resonance is undeniable, evoking euphoria and uplifting moods, which have been shown in studies to positively affect mental health by triggering dopamine release and reducing stress (Thoma et al., 2013). Additionally, the driving rhythm and progressive energy make it ideal for fitness and wellness classes; research supports that music with strong, consistent beats can enhance exercise performance, coordination, and perceived exertion reduction (Karageorghis & Priest, 2012). Its immersive soundscapes and captivating flow can also support meditative states in movement-based therapies, offering both cognitive and emotional benefits. The remix’s catchiness and replay value are remarkably high, ensuring it resonates with audiences while maintaining long-term enjoyment. Crowd reaction potential is at its peak during the euphoric drops and soaring melodic phrases, making it a reliable weapon for live performances. Quiver’s artistic identity is embedded in the track’s texture, delivering a sense of both innovation and reverence for the original. In sum, this remix is a masterclass in progressive house production, capable of energizing dancefloors, enhancing workouts, and uplifting human emotion through scientifically validated psychoacoustic effects. #PureGold Loveit[/content]
