ADE 2025: BumaStemra is back at ADE as Founding Partner: this year's program highlights

As proud Founding Partner of Amsterdam Dance Event, BumaStemra has been standing alongside ADE since the very beginning. Every year, ADE grows into the beating heart of the international electronic music community and BumaStemra continues to play a key role in bringing creators and industry professionals together. This year, BumaStemra will host panels with big names including Ferry Corsten, networking sessions, and get-togethers, offering more opportunities than ever to connect, learn, and celebrate music.

At the heart of ADE

For the first time, the BumaStemra Hub at the Pulitzer Hotel will serve as a home base during ADE, a place to find information, join inspiring conversations, and meet fellow music professionals. Across ADE: BumaStemra curates a series of conversations that bring together industry professionals, artists, and policymakers:

On ADE Wednesday, BumaStemra joins ADE Lab with the panel: 'From Play to Pay: Spotlight on video on demand (VOD) and user generated content'

Whilst the spotlight has been largely focused on music in music streaming services, this session aims to illustrate the music author royalty chains from audio-visual general entertainment content, from video on demand platforms such as Netflix, to user generated content such as YouTube. With content now consumed at both national and global levels, we illustrate the market norms, challenges, and opportunities as well as new challenges with micro- sync and licensing.

On ADE Thursday, BumaStemra will host the panel: 'AI as Creative Partner: Finding Balance in Electronic Music'

An honest, unfiltered exploration of AI’s role in electronic music. This panel moves beyond the hype to examine how artists are actually working with artificial intelligence. While recognizing AI as a powerful creative tool, the discussion also confronts the real concerns it raises: artistic authenticity, creative ownership, and the value of preserving the human touch.

From producers who have fully embraced AI-driven workflows to artists who use it cautiously, or remain skeptical of its potential, the conversation reveals how the electronic music community is navigating this technological shift with both enthusiasm and critical reflection.

Also on ADE Thursday: the roundtable discussion: 'Rights without Borders: Navigating Music Foyalties in Emerging Markets'

An interactive round table addressing the critical gap in music rights management across MENA and emerging African markets. With electronic music scenes exploding in regions without established collecting societies, artists are losing significant revenue. This session brings together regional voices, established collecting societies, and independent experts to explore practical solutions - from alternative rights management models to cross-border partnerships that actually work.

Panelists: Erik de Roo (BumaStemra), Matthew Dicks (MDL Beast), Babek Arjang Far, Akotchayé Okio (SACEM, Director of International Development for Africa, France). Moderator: Rufy Ghazi

Behind the music

On ADE Friday, the focus shifts to the value of Dutch electronic music. ‘The Significance of Dutch EDM: DJs and Politicians in Dialogue’ brings together Ferry Corsten, and Dutch politicians to discuss the role of club culture and the EDM sector. Through personal stories and dynamic exchange, the conversation looks at concrete plans for the upcoming cabinet period.

Later that day, ‘Fair Play in Dance: How MRT, Venues & DJs Can Unlock Royalties for Producers’ highlights how dance events can better reward the songwriters and producers behind the music. The panel explores how technology, venues, DJs, and regulation can contribute to a fairer distribution of royalties.

The program closes with the return of the BumaStemra Cocktail Hour at Felix Meritis on Friday from 16:30 to 18:30 – a moment to meet, connect, and celebrate the week together.

The complete program will be announced in the coming weeks. Individual tickets are available through ADE’s program, and the ADE Pro Pass is available here.

ADE is organised by the Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to nurturing electronic music, its culture and its industry worldwide. The organisation devotes itself to stimulating development, innovation and talent, gathering the global industry and laying a foundation for future generations.
