About Jan Blomqvist and Disconnected:

Jan Blomqvist stands as more than a DJ; he's a virtuoso musician, singer, and producer, delivering his unique brand of electronic compositions live on stage. From his early days with grunge, wielding guitars and drums, to adapting to the digital age in Berlin's music scene, Jan evolved into a maestro mastering a new mega-instrument, creating orchestral landscapes at his fingertips. Navigating through a landscape where live acts were overshadowed by DJs, Jan played a pivotal role in the resurgence of singer-songwriter arrangements, real instruments, and intricate harmonies within techno/electro tracks. His impact resonates globally, having graced stages at Coachella three times, becoming a Burning Man mainstay, and drawing massive crowds at festivals and club shows with up to 100 concerts per year. Witnessing Jan Blomqvist live is transcendent; his innate ability to connect and elevate the room is unparalleled. Situated between established success and underground authenticity, he remains professional yet retains a child-like sense of curiosity. Dubbed 'Juanito' or 'El Nino' at Burning Man, Jan's magnetic stage presence and dedication to his craft have solidified him as a true performer. With nearly 1,000 gigs under his belt, Jan Blomqvist's touring schedule mirrors the capacity-filled venues he commands. When not on the road, he immerses himself in his studio, sculpting tracks that resonate with his audience. Collaborations with luminaries like Ben Böhmer and Oliver Koletzki underscore his influence, and remixing tracks for Clapton and Seal showcases his versatility. In a symbolic gesture of respect, Jan sought permission from The Rolling Stones to cover "Sympathy for the Devil." This attention to detail and reverence for critical elements permeates his work, creating nearly inaudible grooves and subtle layers that elevate the live concert experience.

Still dreaming about having his own record label to release his music Jan starts the label Disconnected in 2024 at the height of his success. Born from the dynamic spirit of Berlin's electronic music scene, Disconnected is a fresh addition to the sonic landscape, driven by Jan Blomqvist ́s vision. As founder and driving force behind Disconnected Jan Blomqvist brings a wealth of experience and passion to the table. His journey through Berlin's electronic music landscape will infuse his label with a deep understanding of the art form. While Jan appreciates the diversity of electronic musical styles and influences, Disconnected aims to carve out it ́s own space in the world of deep house and vocal house music. Disconnected seeks to fill the gaps between deep house, melodic electro and smart "uncheesy" dreamy vocals and club versus live concert vibes. The name of the label derives from Blomqvist ́s latest album “Disconnected” where Jan dived deeply into the global phenomenon of increased detachment:(“Being disconnected in a worldwide connected bubble/scene is the crazy paradox that in my opinion describes our confusing Zeitgeist the best.” Jan Blomqvist, 2024)It is not surprising that the first ever to be released single (Destination Lost) on Jan ́s label is a collaboration with Rodriguez Jr.picking up the common thread again: "We are craving for affection, remotely in reach. Constant worldwide connection, but so lonely each. Always searching for something. Yet nothing is found. While misplacing the moments, would you miss me around.” (Jan Blomqvist &MaybeMahri)

As he embarks on a new venture with his record label and readies a return to the stage with alive band setup in Fall 2024 history seems to repeat itself always. After three years of solo touring Jan decided to team up again with his childhood friend Christian Dammann (drums)and Felix Lehmann (keys) who will play live as a band on stage. Rumor has it that Jan is even writing a new album. In any case Jan Blomqvist's musical journey is far from over. The melodies and songs he's been crafting behind the scenes are a testament to an artist who continually strives for perfection, ensuring that the Jan Blomqvist stride has only just begun.
