Off the back of creating a worldwide hype from charts to radio to dance floors with ‘PATT (Party All The Time)’ (with Sharam, Layton Giordani and Green Velvet), techno legend and Drumcode label boss Adam Beyer has put his hand to another globally esteemed dance classic. The Good Men’s ‘Give It Up’, the 1992 classic produced by renowned duo Chocolate Puma under one of their many aliases, has been turned into a driving mainstage techno banger that will dominate festivals, clubs and Ibiza shows throughout the summer season.
Played extensively by the Swedish DJ and producer for months ahead of today’s release, his take on ‘Give It Up’ demonstrates a rather innovative sound blend. Fusing the African percussion and buoyant trumpet sounds of the original release with pounding kick drums and propulsive beats, the track pays homage to The Good Men’s timeless production whilst appealing to the current and future generations as a proper speaker-buster.
“There’s no denying the major impact ‘Give It Up’ has had globally," says Adam Beyer. "So giving this old house classic a fresh techno flavour for 2024 is an honour and it has been going down a storm every time I have played it so far”
Notable for being one of the first tribal house tunes and for having a major influence on the New York City and Miami club scenes between the mid-‘90s and the mid-2000s, The Good Men’s ‘Give It Up’ became a huge hit in 1993, reaching #1 in the United States (Dance Club Play chart), the United Kingdom (Dance chart) and Canada (Dance/Urban chart) and Top 10 chart positions across Europe. The silver-certified track also went on to claim a coveted position in the U.K. Singles chart (#32) and was sampled extensively in Simply Red’s U.K. #1 hit ‘Fairground’ (1995).

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]The Good Men aka Chocolate Puma are the ultimate dutch house producers with so many fantastic projects under their belts and globally respected hits. Their Give it Up iconic track is evergreen because of its innovative sound design and one of the very first to apply the fantastic Brazilian drum loops with certain Latin flavor to club music and the euphoric synthy hooks on top. Adam Beyer updates the original in the most appropriate way by adding underneath is deep pounding underground basslines, rough raw kicks and on top the brilliant drums, synths and the well known vocal sample. The result is a stunning track with super cool teasing breakdown and full on fire climax smashing and cracking totally unstoppable and absolutely joyful for techno and even trance DJs. Great record to support techno getting more mainstream appeal. #PureGold Love IT [/content]

About Adam Beyer:
Adam Beyer occupies a firm position among the few techno originators who’ve stayed at the top of their game since the ‘90s. The Swede’s three-decade career is an impressive unfurling of steadfast, future-focussed innovation and expansion. Beyer has performed at nearly every club and festival around the world multiple times, he’s the first to have racked up 100 Awakenings appearances, he’s turned in two rounds on Radio 1’s Essential Mix and an entry into fabric’s mix series, built a vast catalogue of vital records, released under various aliases, and launched three record labels, including the gargantuan Drumcode, a world-dominating brand with a syndicated radio show, weekly show on streaming platforms and global wide events.
Beyer galvanised the dawning of a new wave of European techno in the mid ‘90s with releases on Planet Rhythm Records and the iconic Drumcode imprint. Launched in 1996, Drumcode grew at supersonic with his own high-voltage material and early records from Cari Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Marco Carola, Henrik B and Hardcell. Today there’s no bigger techno label or brand. It’s an entry point into techno for millions of avid ravers with its impressive roster featuring across a solid schedule of worldwide, sustainable events.
Drumcode is over 25 years into its legacy, and has now surpassed its 250th release - a historic collaboration that had Kevin Saunderson revive his E-Dancer moniker for remix treatment. Beyer came through on maintaining techno’s integrity while pushing things forward, with the release’s diverse line-up including Robert Hood, DJ Mink, Amelie Lens, Len Faki, TYGAPAW, DJ Bone, rRoxymore and Layton Giordani.
A true festival headliner, his main stage performances consistently push the envelope of possibility. Beyer is a deft hand in cultivating clubbing environments that are consistently abuzz with euphoria. Guaranteed to enjoy that special treatment in 2023 are Ibiza clubbers descending on Beyer’s 10-week residency at Hï Ibiza alongside fellow Swede Eric Prydz. He’s also leading yet another residency at M2 Miami, headlining two nights at Coachella, touring across South Africa and South America, and lining up festivals like Tomorrowland, Awakenings, Creamfields and Junction 2.
