'Heartache' is out now via all platforms.

Ferreck Dawn: "I'm a massive fan of Alex' voice and writing! This will be our third collaboration, it's always such a pleasure working with her. We had an amazing studio session during last ADE and ‘Heartache’ was the result. Really happy with it and can't wait to release it!”

Alex Mills: “I loved working with Ferreck on this one. We have worked together in the past but this time we were in the room which was great! About Alex Mills

Hailing from Leeds and now residing in London, producer, songwriter, vocalist and DJ Alex Mills is swiftly becoming one of the UK’s most in demand electronic talents. A dance music specialist who has become the go-to collaborator for many of the world’s foremost dance producers, in the last few years Alex collaborated on records with Basement Jaxx, Hot Since 82, Sonny Fodera and more, solidifying herself as a standout artist and writer in the electronic music world. With a whole host of A-List names lined up for Alex’s 2023 release schedule, as well as DJ gigs across the globe, her unstoppable ascent shows no sign of slowing down.

Coined the ‘producers’ choice’ of vocalist by Mixmag, Alex first emerged as the voice behind seminal Hot Creations hit 'Something Special' in 2011, and has continually evolved her sound to collaborate with house music heavyweights. Recent collaborations have included BBC Radio 1's Danny Howard, Solardo and Ferreck Dawn, as well as penning tracks for Camelphat. Signed to US dace heavyweight label Ultra Music for recordings and publishing, where she released her solo debut ‘Be Somebody’ in 2017, a string of solo cuts since continued to elevate Alex’s position as a serious one-to-watch.

With 2023 shaping up to be Alex’s busiest year yet, spending time in the studio with some of electronic music’s biggest names, Alex has also taken part in song writing camps across the globe in London, Ibiza, Los Angeles, Paris and Frankfurt, bringing together international talent to create unique records that span the electronic spectrum. Covering Whitney Houston’s beloved ‘Million Dollar Bill’ on a collaborative project with multi-platinum selling producer Majestic and rising stars Beyond Chicago in June 2023, the release of the record on Defected’s D4 D4NCE imprint has already been pegged as another career landmark for Alex, with BBC Radio 1, Capital and KISS FM all pledging their support to the track’s success.

As a DJ, Alex also continues to reach new heights, maintaining residencies this summer at Defected’s lauded Ibiza season at Eden and D4 D4NCE’s weekly O Beach parties, as well as major festival appearances. Highlights so far include opening the Temple Stage at Manchester’s Parklife, playing alongside contemporaries such as Gorgon City, Hannah Wants and Cloonee, as well as her Miami Music Week debut in March. Club shows at venues such as The Warehouse Project and London’s E1 are also already under Alex’s belt, with plenty more to come in the following months at venues across the UK and Europe.

Alex’s success saw her become the face of Amazons 'Sound of Modern House Music' with her single 'Want You To Want Me' with billboards across London showcasing the record. She also landed two much coveted spots as Hottest Record In The World on BBC Radio 1, with her collaboration with GotSome 'Shout It Back' and her own single ‘Worst Enemy’.

Outside of the electronic music sphere, Alex’s ability to write intricate and memorable songs has seen her music featured on American TV series Drop Dead Diva, which has been a huge hit stateside. She has performed on Jools Holland’s longstanding Later show, La Musicale in Paris and toured Europe and Asia. Over the years she has also worked with and written for a broad array of talented artists including Jonas Blue, Wretch32, Crazy Couzins and trip hop legend Tricky.
