Music fans and delegates attending Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE 2022) are invited to explore Everything is ADE - a series of location-based digital stories across Amsterdam.
A specially curated selection of musical stories delivered via cutting-edge mobile-web technology will be available to people in Amsterdam between the 19th and 23rd of October 2022 through the Everything is ADE experience.
Participants will embark on their journey by visiting www.everythingismusic.io before venturing to physical locations across central Amsterdam to unlock location-specific musical stories and digital artefacts from ADE alongside content created by key artists performing at the five-day celebration.
Everything is ADE will celebrate Dutch talent, placing artists such as Alberta Balsam, Shinedoe, Suze Ijo and Dutch AV artist Boris Acket at the centre of the experience. Headline artists, including Floating Points and Nile Rodgers, will also be present on the platform through tailored content pieces and footage from the festival’s past.
The Everything is ADE project was born out of an official partnership between Amsterdam Dance Event, and Everything is Music, a community interest company curated by Crack Magazine and powered by geo-location specialists Landmrk. The platform uses pioneering location-based technology to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of a city. The first iteration of the project, called Everything is Music, was previously launched in Bristol & Bath, where these cities' full musical history was extensively mapped. With smaller roll-outs in Brighton and Barcelona, EIM and has its sights set on cultural celebrations in cities within the US in the coming months.
Amsterdam’s geography, electronic music culture and the festival goer will unite through the real-world metaverse experiences on offer. Musical stories and experiences will be brought to life through leading innovations such as immersive audio tours, our 4D audio-reactive Augmented Reality visualisations, hidden stories and exclusive audio drops onto specific locations on the map.
The platform will also provide numerous opportunities to support the ecosystem that makes up Amsterdam’s musical heritage. With ADE attracting so many people to the city, the platform hopes to drive much-needed customers to record shops, music venues, shops and public spaces. Equally, participants are encouraged to buy music from the artists they discover through Bandcamp links.
Everything is ADE has been made possible by funding from Bristol+Bath Creative R+D Here + There fund.

Crack Magazine Director Thomas Frost explains: – “Partnering with ADE for the next iteration of the Everything Is Music project was a logical progression for the platform. With such an incredible wealth of electronic music in such a concentrated area and with so many people coming to the city over ADE, showcasing the Everything Is Music product to such an open-minded audience made a lot of sense. The exclusive content sourced for this project has been brilliant to piece together and should make for an exciting discovery for the musically curious over ADE’s five days.”
Landmrk CEO Seth Jackson said: – “As the mixed-reality platform of choice for labels and artists around the world we are incredibly pleased to be supporting this partnership between ADE and Everything is Music. Great storytelling technology is nothing without the dynamic and careful curation that experts such as Crack and the ADE team provide. We hope this is just the begining of a mapping of Amsterdam’s electronic music past, present and future.”
ADE team added: – “We're always aiming to enhance and extend the ADE experience beyond regular expectations, so teaming up with Everything Is Music for this project and allowing ADE's visitors to combine their trips through the city with this treasure map of unique audiovisual content is a very exciting addition. Likewise, the AR based project is a great showcase of how innovative developments show future opportunities in media consumption, something ADE extensively discusses in our conference as well.”
