HOUSE REVIEW: aname, AN21 & Lya Adams - Hurt You (Original & AN21 Mixes) out on Anjunabeats

Scandinavian production duo aname follow up the release of their debut album, 'Beautiful World’, with ‘Hurt You (Original & AN21 Mixes)’, a collaboration with AN21 and Lya Adams.

The collaborative work of Marcus Schössow and Thomas Sagstad reaches its latest apex with ‘Beautiful World’, an album that the pair have envisioned since first meeting over two decades ago. Following on from solo work with the likes of Swedish House Mafia, Axwell /\ Ingrosso and Kaskade over the last ten years, the duo’s debut album is the latest milestone in their expansive discographies.

Like their careers, their album is not without its share of great collaborators.

Originally released as part of ‘Beautiful World’, ‘Hurt You’ is a track that dates back several years and sees aname join forces with fellow Swedish vocalist Lya Adams, as well as AN21, a stalwart of SIZE records and brother to Steve Angello.
“It started while I was in Stockholm with Antoine and Philip (AN21),” Schössow explains. “I heard a song and said ‘that’s a cool idea’, and Antoine said ‘that’s a demo that Steve and I worked on’... a couple years later I found it again and thought, ‘man, this is a nice record’, but I wanted to take it into a different atmosphere.” Now, AN21 brings fans his own spellbinding rework of the track.
AN21, aka Antoine Joseffson, is a frequent feature in DJ Mag’s coveted Top 100 DJs list, and has remixed tracks by Gorillaz, Ellie Goulding and Pendulum to name just a few. He recently finished a run of shows on his Asia tour, and dropped three singles on SIZE records, earning support from Yotto, Adam Beyer, Adriatique, Agents of Time, Kevin De Vries, Joris Voorn and more on his latest single ‘Liquid Gold’.

After recent performances at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge as well as Tomorrowland Brasil and Red Rocks Amphitheatre, aname continue their tour with stops at The Steel Yard in London and Royale in Boston. Tickets on sale now (www.anamemusic.com/tour).

aname, AN21 & Lya Adams ‘Hurt You (Original & AN21 Mixes)' is out now on Anjunabeats.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]aname, AN21 & Lya Adams combine their creative forces for the super stunning Hurt You. On the impressive original now is added the much needed AN21 124 BPM remix ready made to conquer the dancefloors with pounding thumping baselines, techy drums, splashing kicks, dark moody dystopian synths and cinematic strings building tension and creating the fantastic atmosphere that will offer unforgettable memories on the dance floor. The vocal is absolutely adorable and persuade you for the mystery and melodramatic tones that conveys to the mesmerized listener! Classy from the first beat to the last. #PureGold Love IT[/content]
