• Gear Test Lab

Welcome to the Gear Test Lab; the place where you are allowed and encouraged to touch every piece of gear you walk into! This year, in fashion with the new experimental grounds of ADE Lab, we are introducing the newest edition to the mix: the ADE Lab Studio Arena! Yes, you read that right: Studio Arena!

Bring your laptop and get ready to step into the studio at ADE Lab!A one-of-a-kind experience where you as a producer have the opportunity to plug in and start creating right on the ADE grounds, with access to an extraordinary amount of top-notch hardware and software to try out and implement into your productions! A total of eight (!!!) plug and play work-stations to get creating.

To push your inspiration and creativity, the Studio Arena will be hosted by none other than the SAE Institute - firing you challenges by the hour and daring you into the studio ring. Expect hardware and software from Ableton, AIAIAI, Focusrite/Novation, Moog, Native Instruments, Roland, Teenage Engineering and Universal Audio.


• Lab Living

During the long days and longer nights at ADE, we all need a moment to recharge. So sit back, put on a record, relax… and come hang out at the ADE Lab grounds its livingroom; The Lab Living! A multi experimantal space for you to kick back and enjoy a chilled moment. Get groovin’ at the open vinyl decks and curated DJ sets, provided by Allen & Heath, who are there to let you absorb a relaxed ambience at the Lab Living. More of a cratedigger? Start digging and discover some of the most iconic records or flip through a book or two, leveling up your knowledge on the culture and colours of the electronic music scene. Feeling more creative? Together with Deepgrooves you’ll be able to customize your own vinyl sleeve at the Lab Living! For that second-hand record that you have been saving in its little paper cover for years to finally have a proper home. Accompanied by a tiny exhibition on the vinyl creation process!

As anyone who has shared a smile on the dance floor will know, music is a universal language and a medium to understand each other without needing verbal communication. It introduces us to a creator's many different influences and their own unique living world. DJ and producer Sara Dziri and DJ and producer duo Vessbroz are two electronic artists with roots in the Middle East & North African (MENA) region and they have introduced many dance floors to their own singular vision for electronic music.

At ADE Lab, we’ll get in conversation with the artists on the many things they take inspiration from and how they incorporate them into their creative processes, such as their connection with the MENA region including its outspoken musical footprint, creative mindset and many native instruments.

Dim Mak, Dim Mak En Fuego and A Good One Present Official ADE Demo Contest.

In partnership with VIRPP, we’ll will be hosting an exclusive one-on-one A&R session at ADE for five winners, which will incorporate special mentoring sessions around music, marketing, and more.

New Noise was launched in 2015 as Dim Mak’s new music discovery program that focused on new sounds from burgeoning artists in the Electronic Dance Music space.

As New Noise moves into its next chapter (New Noise / Nuevo Noise), Dim Mak, Dim Mak En Fuego and A Good One invite emerging artists of all genres and subgenres to share their music for a chance to release a single on the label.

How much will you miss not going to Amsterdam Dance Event to look for those young guns?
“For us Amsterdam is Disneyland, there is a certain happiness there that is overwhelming, and we always had an amazing time at ADE. The people, culture around the industry, nightlife, music and the potential discovery of new talent are being missed man. It’s always an amazing experience and there is such a good vibe.”
Can you tell me something about your thoughts on VIRPP and the first collaboration?
“What I love about VIRPP is their progressiveness in developing the digital community. Not only for producers or DJ’s but also for industry and fans. This creates a direct link that is a way more efficient for a company like us. For our first collaboration, we invite VIRPP users to remix the festival favorite Mawlee by one of our leading dubstep artist Riot Ten. After that, we’re planning on running more campaigns to find remixes and potential artists for our other ventures Dim Mak En Fuego and A Good One.”

With a focus on uplifting Black and queer voices, we tap into the important work of DJ, electronic musician and BEAUTIFUL label founder SHERELLE, who has become a vital part of the high-speed rave scene with her sound touching the jungle, drum 'n' bass, footwork and juke realm. Together with Black Artist Database co-founder NIKS, the two will be diving into their ways of changing the status quo within electronic music and the future of the culture!

Since the 70s the first DJ started spinning records for a crowd. Throughout the years there have been many developments in music, technical setup and entertainment, so nowadays people expect more and more from a DJ.

Presentation, skills, but also entrepreneurial mindset and visibility is extremely important for a DJ to set yourself apart from the rest. On top of that mixing skills need to be on point. Amsterdam Audio Collective set up an ultimate Bootcamp for DJs to help improve and challenge themselves on many of these aspects. This program is for all levels and music styles and will push every DJ to be the best version of him/herself.

The training program​

We start off with some of Hollands' best DJs, who will give a masterclass. Also we invited one of Hollands' biggest event organisations and artist manager.

You will train your skills in hands-on workshops to help you improve your technique and insight. This will all be supported by our technically skilled team, who will explain all exercises to you and who will answer all of your questions.

With an interactive Q&A by young and talented artist BASSA, who is currently pursuing his dream of becoming a professional DJ, we'll complete our intensive program.

Masterclasses

DJ JDaw is an Italian scratch champ with over 20 years of experience as a DJ and Producer. Together with DJ Yaner they release tracks and video's as "Infected faders". He played at numerous festivals, DJ battles and conventions and together with DJ Setiono, they will takes us through some scratch techniques.

DJ Setiono is one of Hollands most technical scratch DJs. After many battles he developed his scratches in a musical way and uses the turntable as an instrument. As a founder and member of the DJ crew "Turntable Rockstars", he toured with house legend Laidback Luke and gives lectures at Conservatorium in Amsterdam. He teamed up with DJ DJaw to do a scratch masterclass during our Bootcamp.

DJ CHUCKIE is a living legend what numerous worldwide releases, hits and over 29 years of experience as a DJ and Producer. He's also know for his legendary Dirty Dutch concepts and strikes down in the biggest and most impressive clubs all around the world. He'll take you on his journey and shares the story.

DJ DNS is 4x winner of Dutch DJ Championships and had the honour of representing Holland in the world championships (eg. Redbull Thre3style) on more than one occasion. For over 25 years he has been teaching DJ-ing and "Turntablism'. He will dive deep in technical skills and will show you how to use the turntable/cdj as an instrument.

DJ Welly Well is a frequently booked and versatile DJ with over 20 years experience. He's a real entrepreneur and hosts his own events, manages a booking agency and he teaches the art of DJ-ing. In his masterclass he will discuss 'Music Management’ and he will help you with tips & tricks how to organise and best use your music collection as a DJ.
