Best of 2018 Interview with DJ & producer Michael Fearon

Northern Irish producer Michael Fearon has been flourishing in the electronic dance scene ever since he was introduced to the genre at a young age.

In 2017 the success kicked off with a signing to Alter Ego Progressive at the beginning of the year. His talent was then given due recognition by various well known artists including the famous DJ Paul Van Dyk, Myon and Mike Shiver. An especially huge moment this year was when Michael’s take on ‘Voices’ by Jaoqiun Limon and Straight Up was played on Above and Beyond’s radio show for two consecutive weeks. His unique sounds have been given air time throughout the year on international shows such as Group Therapy, VONYC Sessions, Enhanced Sessions, Ride Radio and Captured Radio.

Michael has no plans to slow down in the foreseeable future with strong desire and passion to gain wider recognition, further his knowledge and top his already impressive successes.

Having tracks played on the biggest shows is always a huge bonus, thanks again for the support to everyone who has supported my music. And also meeting Oliver Smith at the Common Ground Tour Belfast, not only does he create awesome music, he is a true gent and it really made the night even better meeting one of my idols.

Michael Fearon: It has to be Beatport, there is not a day that goes by i don't check it for new music.

Dimitris: In 2018 there was a big movement for revival of classic tracks and retro events have boomed with music policy of solely classic tracks. What is your opinion about events or stages only with classics and can you choose for us your absolute 3 favourite classics?

Michael Fearon: I love the fact that the classics are coming back to events, the saying really is true that classics will never die. Of the top of my head my classics would be,

Jan Johnston - Flesh (Dj Tiesto Remix),

Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel,

Westbam vs Red Jerry - Wizards Of The Sonic (Matt Darey Remix) and

Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford - Alone Tonight.

Michael Fearon: There is nothing set in stone but I have few tracks/remixes in the pipeline, I'm definitely not ready for an album, yet. And on the DJ gig front I'm really hoping for the opportunity to get my first gig under my belt. Any takers?

Dimitris: Finally, what is your biggest wish for 2019 and give us your wishes for our readers?

Michael Fearon: I just hope to continue to improve and maybe get some gigs. One small step at a time.
