ADE 2018: Interview with Maarten Greve, ADE Hackathon 2018

To stimulate innovation in the dance and festival scene, DGTL, ADE and the Tech & Dance Collective joined forces again to organize the third ADE Hackathon. As technology is at the core of electronic music, these three parties acknowledge that there is much to discover on how festival organizers, artists, labels and any other player in the music industry can use data and technology to grow, innovate and do new creative stuff. At the ADE Hackathon, developers, designers, entrepreneurs and other creative minds were asked to think about the challenges that are faced by the dance and festival scene, but also to think about the opportunities that data and technology provide. A group of 100 selected bright minds were invited to develop smart concepts, new apps and inspiration within a challenging timespan of 24 hours.

We visited Label A & Bynder at Max Euweplein 46 and we experience the positive atmosphere and the superb conditions under which ADE Hackathon was running under the co-ordination of Maarten Greve who was so polite to offer us some of his precious time to talk to us about ADE Hackathon and explain to us what this particular Hackathon involved plus he explained the themes that creative minds had to service with their innovative ideas. Thanks to Maarten for his time!

About ADE:
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), which took place from 17 to 21 October 2018, brought the international dance industry together. With more than 2,600 artists performing in 200 music and entertainment venues, the full spectrum of electronic subgenres is in the spotlight. ADE is the center of the global electronic music scene, and attracts around 400,000 visitors in five days, and can rightly be called a breeding ground for cultural and technological innovation. Amsterdam Dance Event took place from 17 to 21 October 2018. Various sub-conferences are held for the industry, such as Dance & Brands, ADE Tech and ADE Green.  This is the sixth edition of ADE Green, which focuses on sustainability, social change and innovation within the music industry.

The Amsterdam Dance Event is organised by Stichting Amsterdam Dance Event, an initiative of Buma.
