REVIEW: Sander Kleinenberg feat. George McCrae - Colours In The Sun out on Armada Deep

Though it would take us a four-decade time travel to the past to fully experience the off-the-charts impact of Disco legend George McCrae’s global breakthrough record (‘Rock Your Baby’), that doesn’t mean he’s done impressing the world with his golden voice. On Sander Kleinenberg’s brand-new single, ‘Colours In The Sun’, George McCrae’s soulful vocals are juggled with the Dutch DJ and producer’s sublime rhythms, ensuring a marvelous Armada Deep release no dance music lover can get enough of.

From the well-crafted arrangement to the subtle melodies and George McCrae’s deep, charming vocals, ‘Colours In The Sun’ is a top-notch production on all fronts and 100% playlist material. Laced even further with uplifting beats and a firm bassline, this cut also stakes its claim as a peak-time dance floor smash.
Sander Kleinenberg: “Working with George has been an absolute pleasure, it is not every day you are able to work with a legend of his magnitude. Revamping his voice and making him relevant for a 2018 dance floor has been one of the highlights of my career so far.”
Sander Kleinenberg has been among the scene’s trailblazers for over twenty years. The award-winning DJ and producer is known for remixing the likes of Halsey, Justin Timberlake, Daft Punk, Madonna and Janet Jackson and continues to infect the masses with his high-end originals and all-around top-quality music on a regular basis. ‘Colours In The Sun’ is a sterling example of just that.

George McCrae, who recently made an appearance in Jools Holland’s 25th annual Hootenanny on BBC Two , scored a global smash hit in 1974 with ‘Rock Your Baby’, which sold over 11 million copies around the world as topped the charts in a host of countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Touted as one of the first-ever Disco hits, the song earned the American artist a Grammy for ‘Best Male R&B Vocalist’ in 1975 and marked the start of a remarkably successful career that’s been bearing fruit to this very day.

[content title="Summary" label="Overall Score"]When two legends from different eras collide in a recording studio you are pretty sure that something truly tasty and memorable will come out. The fantastic Mr Kleinenberg works with the Mr Disco man aka George McCrae for beautiful relaxing beats combined with future house influences and balearic touches as well. The track smells sea salt and it feels warming like the early morning first sunrays that you feel in your skin while you dance on the final DJ set. It has definitely colors and optimistic attitude with very cool vocals that you can sense that carry a lot of history and experience. Groovy, melodic, spacious and sparkling or in other words #PureGold Love IT  [/content]
