Gabber, the in Rotterdam born and world's largest rave subculture has since its peak in the 90's spread all over the world. Internationally known under the name of Hardcore, its associated music genre, it now lives in Colombia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and even the United States. Each country has its own unique scene with their own history, style and behavior. But all of them have one thing in common: an unconditional love for Hardcore music with the Netherlands as its Mecca.
Growing up with Gabber, Boris’ involvement with the subculture has shifted from participant to observer. For Planet Core, Boris followed his fascination to Italy and Japan to research and document the local scenes and the Gabbers inhabiting them.
Join us for the opening of Boris' exhibition, October 18 from 7 PM and experience the impact of global Hardcore in Melkweg Expo with DJs Yoshiko and Neodash Zerox.
