Daniel Kandi & Miroslav Vrlik - You & Me [Always Alive Recordings]

Alex Wright Review: I heard about this one coming earlier this year and it was exciting to say the least as I am such a fan of both of these artist's styles. The two producers seem to have stricken a nice balance between their individual sounds and production techniques as Daniel's lead work, FX transitions, and mastering are audible as well as Miroslav's floaty but punchy drive and melodic style. The introduction is just perfect  for autumn days and so is the breakdown which features a lovely plucky sound which decays away like falling leaves. I always appreciate when songs are unique and this breakdown paints a lovely soundscape with great sounds and when the melody hits with the basslines, the result is very uplifting and hands in the air. Just how I like my trance!

Finding Wonderland & Skylex - Wonder Sky [Blue Soho Recordings]

Alex Wright Review: I was recently brought to attention by Skylex's amazing remix of Thrillseekers Pres. Hydra - Amber and here partnering up with 'Finding Wonderland' on Blue Soho Recordings, he shows his maturity and skill at crafting excellent, clean mixdown with buzzy basslines and nice chops which set the perfect mood along with textured plucks and subtle ambient pads. The chord progression is very nice and refreshing with plenty of uplifting moments and some sky-high piano touches send this one into heaven. Some vocal atmospheres enhance the mood before the sound level drops giving way to an impacting lead melody which when coupled with the punchy beats and atmospheres in the climax creates a very satisfying payoff.

Levekar Feat. Cassandra Grey - Darkest Light (Den Rize Pres. Blur8 Remix) [Emergent Skies]

Alex Wright Review: Originally being really impressed by the original mix of this which was released back in August and featured on Dan Stone's disc from Aly & Fila's FSOE450 compilation, I was excited to see Den Rize's name on the remix package as I am a big fan of his Blur8 work. In this remix there is plenty of delicious atmospherics and great vocal treatment, with punchy beats and a driving yet laid back groove aided by a sliding saw bassline. The breakdown takes a deeper, more minimal approach which is full of misty moodiness and some nicely phased plucks create a gorgeously tantalising effect on the ears. A great alternative to the more anthemic original by Den Rize here which is my favourite out of the remix release which also includes remixes by Aldo Henrycho and Selective Divergence.

Mike Squillo - Beleza [Digital Society Recordings]

Alex Wright Review: My buddy from New York has his first release in a while on DSR with 'Beleza' which features a lovely bittersweet guitar melody at its core and is dressed by a dramatic bed of pluck sequences and scene-setting pads. Trance with a balearic flavour definitely hits my soft spot and this track by Mike has captured that mood really well. The chords and melodies in the breakdown remind me of the beautiful yet sad 'One Last Look' by Signalrunners from Anjunabeats, and if you don't know that track I really suggest you give it a listen! The lead is a nice arpeggiated saw which fills the track out nicely underneath the gentle guitar parts with  plenty of power and prowess. Great work here from this dude!

R3dub - Covenant [Maraphobia]

Alex Wright Review: A really well-fleshed out production here by Romanian producer R3dub on Maratone's label Maraphobia, 'Covenant' has plenty of power and depth with a nice wide stereo field, some nice acids squelch away in the mids and high end to provide extra flair and drive to a thumping groove. The main lead melody is straight forward and powerful and is complemented nicely by twinkling pianos and great atmospheres. Good job here by William at creating a well-executed, memorable track with plenty of bite.

Jonny Royall & Alex Wright came in with a bang! Octane is a very nice and energetic track. We loved it at first listen. No only it put a huge smile on our faces, but it also made our day better.

Talking about technicalities is a waste here. Talking about emotions and how this tracks makes us feel, that is a different story. We dreamed of sea. We dreamed of mountain. We dreamed of nature. We dreamed of forest. We dreamed of pure joy. Of pure happiness. And we hope you’ll joins us in this dream too. Trance on!
