EVENT REVIEW: Digital Society & John O'Callaghan pres. Subculture at O2 Academy Leeds

Friday 11th of November was marked in the calendar as the return of UK's best trance club brand return to Leeds along with one of the most underground trance record imprints. Digital Society well known for promoting and organising amazing shows and John O'Callaghan label Subculture brought to Leeds the trance vibes that were missing and in my opinion should return in monthly or bi-monthly basis as there many UK trance fans up North hungry for quality events. The event started at 9 with 2 hours of quality warm-up beats by Dutchman Ruben de Ronde followed by the always impressive Standerwick. You like it psy tech and uplifting then Standerwick is perfect to give you the boost you need.

Time was 00.00 and it seems the right time for Menno de Jong to take over the stage with another dj set that  had great variety with bombastic tech trance and uplifting feel goodness. Of course he has included his latest smashes and he interacted enthusiastically with his crowd.

At 01.00 the upcoming and quickly rising to the top of trance promoters list Will Atkinson. He started his set in truly old school dark techno pumping vibe and slowly progressed to magical uplifting trance sparkled with acid trance madness.

Then it was John O'Callaghan turn, the leader of the Subculture revolution to bring his nice vibes in the event. His dj set was always varied with the right amount of dark and montrous techno gems mixed with uplifting trance feelgoodness and of course his well known trance hits so far.. Very grounded and totally intense hour I can assure you.

Next on tonight's line up the very good Irish friend of John's the unstoppable Bryan Kearny. This guy truly loves to bang hard and he can do it with gentle or the hard way. Powerful psytech combined with new remixes on beloved classics like Turn It Around or Silence in a set that leaves traces in your memory.

Next trance master on the block the pioneer John Askew with a set that had again great variety of melodic and vocal with some hard hitters and of course plenty of acid trance. Its all about the underground baby!

Finally on the line up was the two tech trance revolutionaries. The amazing Mark Sherry and his good friend Alex Di Stefano. With great chemistry between them you could see that this back 2 back set simply works and explodes out of any proportion. Tech Trance is growing for sure and fantastic way to end the epic night.
