EVENT NEWS: Drum & bass legends Marky & Bukem bring summery sounds to Electric Brixton Saturday 2nd April

For one night only, Soundcrash presents an epic night of drum and bass with two of the scene’s most legendary players, DJ Marky & LTJ Bukem.

The show at Electric Brixton on Saturday 2nd April sees DJ Marky flying in especially from Sao Paulo in Brazil to bring his samba-inspired breaks and bass sound to London. After grabbing the attention of Goldie, Bryan G, and DJ Hype in 1999, Marky has gone on to impress the entire UK scene and generate a large following as well ‘Best DJ’ accolades. He has since released 2 critically acclaimed albums ‘In Rotation’ and ‘Influences’, headlined Lovebox, played with Norman Jay MBE at Good Times at the Notting Hill Carnival, and kept his name in the game through radio features and tracks on Fifa Street.

LTJ Bukem needs no introduction to drum and bass heads, as he is one of the true greats. A pioneer of the intelligent D&B sub-genre, his intricate beats, mixed with Marky's Brazilian flavour is a match made in drum and bass heaven. His classical music training in his teenage years has always come to the fore in his sound, with his jazz fusion/funk influences and intricate piano lines allowing him to pioneer and nurture new directions for the genre through his label, Good Looking. His music production, experience in live performance and as an esteemed DJ, including legendary club nights such Speed with DJ Fabio, have helped make Bukem a national treasure.

Hosting the night will be Dynamite MC, the original jungle/drum & bass MC, and current Kiss FM presenter, who has also recorded as an artist with the likes of the Roni Size, Andy C, High Contrast, and Netsky.

Tom Central will also be stepping up with a d&b classics set, and there are very special guests still to be announced.

The mix of styles and individual talents is something rarely seen and the undeniable connection between these performers is perfect to get you in the mood for summer.
