As the Axtone ten-year festivities draw nearer, the label happily welcomes back Adrian Lux, in the long awaited return since his 2010 anthemic single, ‘Teenage Crime’. Fully living up to Sweden’s notoriety for musicianship, Adrian’s talents as a songwriter and producer continue to impress, with ‘Torn Apart’ fulfilling the high expectations Adrian has set for himself. Hopping over the Scandinavian border, Adrian and Axtone call on progressive house aficionado, Fehrplay for remix duties; lending his cinematic touch to ‘Torn Apart’, striking the ideal balance between club and home listening.
Having made a name for fusing genres of Indie and Dance, Adrian first broke onto the scene via his 2010 single ‘Strawberry’, receiving an additional Grammy nomination and Platinum certification for Axtone’s ‘Teenage Crime’. Releasing his self-titled album in 2012 on Ultra Records, Adrian continues to forge his own path in the dance music world, as more than just a producer, but a true artist in his own right.
Differentiating himself from the predictable pack, Jonas von der Fehr aka Fehrplay has become synonymous for quality progressive house, where melodies and basslines reign supreme. Having remixed the likes of Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, and Röyksopp, Jonas arguablydelivers his finest remix yet, in what will surely appeal to fans regardless of their generation.
Seeming to be one of the most natural pairings throughout the label’s history, Fehrplay’s remix of ‘Torn Apart’ leads the label into new, but intrinsically Axtone territory. With rumoured remixes still to come, fans and listeners alike have plenty to look forward to as Axtone sheds light on its many surprises still to come.
Dimitri Kechagias review: Axtone records headed by one of the best djs of all time the beloved Axwell presents the top notch Adrian Lux with Torn Apart remixed by the magnificent Fehrplay. The track is a magical dreamy progressive trance meets progressive house version that recalls Eric Prydz productions with much depth and substance. Pulsating driving basslines, techy crunchy grooves and superb melodic themes that beautifully melt with the vocal snippets that stay at the background and create that very mystical atmosphere. If you like the tripping out feel of quality warm progressive house you should consider playing on repeat mode. Great synths, inventive composition, Swedish perfection for sure! #PureGold Love It
