FEATURE: This Was Tomorrow, the movie of a magnificent year

A worldwide gift, available on December 1st, brought to you by Tomorrowland

2015 was a magical year: Tomorrowland celebrated its 11th edition in Boom and set up a live link to Mexico and India. The first edition of Tomorrowland in Brazil was an unprecedented success and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had a special message for the People of Tomorrow. All these spectacular, meaningful moments form the common thread in the movie This Was Tomorrow that will be launched on December 1st on www.tomorrowland.com

‘THIS WAS TOMORROW, THE MOTION PICTURE OF A MAGNIFICENT YEAR’ is not just any film: it's the documentary created for the big screen that encompasses all the highlights of Tomorrowland 2015 and includes the most beautiful stories from the People of Tomorrow. It is a film in which it's all about the experience and the viewer is immersed in the ‘the world of tomorrow’. Each character has his own fascinating story. Each of them brings a unique perspective, resulting in multi layered content that we intersperse with party footage and musical intermezzos.

The film opens with an epic sequence of abstract slo-mo shots and drone-footage of the highlights of the three festivals (Tomorrowland Belgium, TomorrowWorld USA and Tomorrowland Brasil), backed up by a cinematic, classical score that enthrals the viewer. This is the beginning of a journey…

Next comes a sequence in which we discover Brazil. We bring  the country that  hosted its first edition in 2015 to life in all its diversity. The white beaches of Ipanema, the mighty Amazon, the drum-bands of Salvador de Bahia, the kites in the favela of Rocinha, the samba-dancers, the sweeping plains of Minas Gerais, the surfers, footballers, etc…  Followed by a whole series of great stories from around the world: the Brazilian DJ Felipe Tampa is featured in the film, as well as DJ Marky, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, Tiesto, Dave Clark, Pete Tong, Josh Wink, Ghost, Sven Van Hees, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Hardwell, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix... not to mention a few notable People of Tomorrow. There's the future doctor Anna Carolina, the Argentinians Bruno & Macarena who travelled 3500 km on foot to experience Tomorrowland Brazil, Kyleigh & Courtney, deaf girls at the festival, Duda Matar who brings colour to the favelas in Brazil and the American Steve the aeroplane builder.

The avant-première of This Was Tomorrow on November 26th in Antwerp. The National Orchestra of Belgium will bring once again the Symphony of Unity on stage.
