REVIEW: Lane 8 feat. Matthew Dear - Undercover incl remixes out on on Anjunadeep

Following the success of his debut album ‘Rise’, Lane 8 announces the release of ‘Undercover’, his collaboration with the legendary Matthew Dear – a standout track from an album which Mixmag described as “packed full of beautiful melodies and left-field pop moments”.

Building from an arpeggiated riff into the unique vocals of Dear, ‘Undercover’ combines the dancefloor sensibility and quirky melodic style that has won Lane 8 plaudits over the past 18 months.

After recent remixes for Royskopp and Flight Facilities, German star Wankelmut works his magic twisting the original into a moody club anthem with a menacing bassline.

Yotto continues to mark himself out as a rapidly rising talent, following two much loved EPs on Anjunadeep and a remix for Above & Beyond. Debuted by Lane 8 himself in front of 14,000 people at ABGT150, his take is an epic dancefloor bomb, full of grand strings and sparse vocal cuts.

Montreal’s Eekkoo has been turning heads with his releases on Deadmau5’s Mau5trap label, and on his remix he takes a mellow trip through spacey soundscapes, making full use of Matthew Dear’s distinctive voice.

Dimitri Kechagias review: I can talk for hours about how much appreciate Anjunadeep. The legendary Above and Beyond initiated label has offered us some of the best electronic house moments like the latest one from the beloved Lane 8 who collaborates with Matthew Dear for a dark melancholic dreamy deep progressive house beauty with tribal grooves, deep haunting basslines, vintage melancholic themes, cinematic atmosphere and magnificent strings all coming together for the perfect new age moment on the dancefloor! The fantastic German dj producer Wankelmut service a very classy deep house version that is tripping out and perfect to let yourself go and enjoy the magic as it unfolds. Deep techy grooves, hypnotic rhythm, quitar riffs and cinematic strings creating a sonic environment not to be missed. Yotto has prove his worth with great releases so far and now his remix is dynamic and driving but at the same time peaceful and very danceable at the same time. Great version that deep progressive trance djs will appreciate and feature in their deeper darker moodier moments but expect after the breakdown to go full on and packed with melodic goodness. Eekkoo remix goes for an excellent minimal deep melodic progressive house version with great tribal grooves and superb minimal deep basslines with colorful synths and warm feel good strings. THis is pure perfection for me. #PureGold Love it
