Back in 1997 Mark Shimmon & Nick Woolfson got together to form the Sundance project, the result of their labours was the ever so brilliant “Sundance” track. Not just any house / proto-trance / big room sound… but one that encapsulated the sounds of the time and made it to the top 20 in the UK main chart. Big riffs, an instantly recognizable break down and the big stabby bass sound. The track went on to be licenced all over the world with a slew of labels and a bucketful of remixes.
Fast forward to 2015 and to celebrate the upcoming release of a “Best Of Reactivate” here at React we thought it most appropaite to re-visit one of our classics with some remixes. So for our 256th release (yes that’s a lot for sure) here are the remixes…
First up we head off to Canada for a big room trance re-rub from Thomas Datt. He focuses in on the big room stabs while driving the beats to a peak-time destination. Alex Kidd takes us off into a EDM direction with his take on the hands in the air juxtapose-mash of the classic parts. Of course we have to include the classic mix… its there in all its prime for the newcomers to hear what all the fuss was about. To round off the package we also include a downtempo chill out version perfect for those mid AM moments and those Chilled Euphoria style comps.
Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the most beloved and truly celebrated label of all times is React Music. The hair raising synthy hook is right here to make your hair stand still and uplift your spirit at the highest place and most explosive space. You should let yourself go with the flow and let true trance touch your heart. Alex Kidd turns the original into a massive big room prog house fat smocker cracker. The old school influences are there but passed through the festival house filter. If you like loud and proud drops you will simply don't stop jumping with this one. Percussive melodies, vicious basslines and the old school Ibiza theme right here to remind u that the best melodies are the simplest ones!
