It’s fair to say that Activa is a bona-fide legend of our beloved trance scene and has crafted some of the most beautiful and original productions over his illustrious career. After both him and us establishing in 2004, it’s a great wonder how 11 years have passed without us releasing an original production from one of the true greats of the scene…. Well today that is all about to change as we see Mr. Rob Stevenson grace us with a top notch trancer!
Following up the Perfecto Flouro release ‘Antimatter’, Rob has put his trance hat back on and delivered an epic production brimming with subtle, eloquent elements, that all fuse with consummate ease to fabricate an intricate and stylish progressive offering entitled 'Magnetic'.
On the flip we've drafted in the slick production credentials of James Dymond to offer up a super stylish alternative treat. Upping the tempo Mr. Dymond has taken the original and given it a huge injection of steroids as tech laden fx coalesce with a powerful psy-esque bass line, which rips through the speakers like a spring loaded jack-in-the-box!
You will definitely be drawn in by this one!
Dimitri Kechagias review: The trance legend Activa loves to redefine his sound. He is able to produce all the variety of trance styles and he is able to be perfect on all of them. Lately he seems to be attracted to melodic psy trance sound. The track Magnetic that on this release appears in its Dub version is superb melodic psy trancer with great flow and energy with inspirational ethnic female vocal samples and superb overload of acid layers that hypnotise your senses. The melodic layers are strong enough to shine and support the listener get infected from its emotional depth and exceptional quality. The sound of those great synths recall the classic Perfecto Fluoro style without a doubt. The climax is sensational with psy trance kicks, acid overtones, heavenly voices and travelling synthy layers. On the other side James Dymond is on a mission to transform the original into a tough tech meets psy trance monster that is harder and edgy with pounding monster drums, aggressive basslines, acid overtones and darker mood throughout. The breakdown is outstanding with sensitive piano chords, synthy themes, airy pads and the exotic dreamy vocals. His climax is not for the weak hearted as it goes for the rough and furious banging bass focused sound. #PureGold Love It
