REVIEW: Years & Years - King incl The Magician remix on Polydor UK / Universal Music

With even more momentum you can not start the new year: UK-Dance Sensation Years & Years have been ranked No. 1 this year's BBC-list "Sound of 2015"! Corresponding to the royal accolade, the three Londoners present their new single "King".

If only all "Kings" so casually would be: beat and synth Carpet drive the new single from Years & Years, during the singing of Olly Alexander once again works as the perfect pop icing on the cake. At the same time "King" further proof  Years & Years ability to compose anthems.  The completely self-written, self-produced and hand-rehearsed sound of the trio sounds thoroughly contemporary, yes almost futuristic ...

Since last Friday, the decision of the British expert's official: After lying in recent years, artists such as Adele (2008) Ellie Goulding (2010) Jessie J (2011) and most recently Sam Smith (2014) at the top, there are now at 2015, Years & Years to be honored by the BBC with the first place to the "Sound of 2015" list as the hottest newcomers. "As Disclosure, only with better mood," "the next dance sensation from UK" (DIY) from Guardian Guide has been aptly described while only the video for their hit singles "Real", "Take Shelter" and "Desire" at the end of the year recorded a total of nearly 9 million views. They shone in the interlude of Sam Smith and Clean Bandit, attended the European festivals of good humor, enthusiastic least in Cologne and Hamburg their fans, but now, after the BBC Sound Poll, coupled with the way a nomination for the "Critics' Choice Award "at the BRITS, Years & Years shift up a gear for the final sprint towards debut album, which is now considered one of pop highlights of the year.

Already on their "Take Shelter" EP (released 08/04/14) presented Years & Years their unique blend of dance beats, introspective soul and R & B, where the factor Pop never comes up short with them - ensures not least the casual song of the 24-year-old frontman Olly Alexander (vocals / keyboard). Backed by bassist Mikey Goldsworthy and producer Emre Turkmen responsible for beats and synth sounds, Years & Years set now with "King" to make 2015 their biggest year.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Years & Years are definitely the hottest  new pop dance act coming from UK aiming for massive global success with their much anticipated album. Their brand new track King seems that will reach the number 1 at the UK Top 40 for several reasons. Some of them can be the stunning driving funky bassline, energetic cruchy drums and superb piano melodies along with synths combined with echoed vocals effects. The lyrics are instantly memorable so you can wait to see many fans sing a long the track. The vocal is simply high class with emotional edge and pop sweet touch. Heartfelt performance that make you feel every single word that the beloved Olly sings upon the excellent foundation of punchy drums, classy atmospheres, sunkissed melodies, 90's influenced balearic touches and pop sensibility. The brand new remix added comes from the very talented The Magician who adds his future house remix as he named it. Energetic prime time version with thumping deep dark bassline and chunky techy groove while the breakdown has the usual garage house atmosphere along with part of the vocals. The drop is decorated with rave style organ riffs and vocal snippets. Now there is no excuse from house djs not to play this anthem. King will be played millions time on radio the next months so expect to be brainwashed from it pleasurably. #PureGold Love it
