REVIEW: Super8 & Tab with 7 Skies - Rubicon out on Anjunabeats

Redefining the rolling bassline for the modern dance floor, "Rubicon" is the latest thunderous club instrumental from Anjunabeats finest duo Super8 & Tab, teaming with Italian David Boldini, aka. 7 Skies.

Having widened his sound with releases on the likes of Steve Aoki's Dim Mak imprint, David returns to the label where he first established himself with classics "Sushi" and "Caffeine". The first of 2 collaborations between them to be taken from Super8 & Tab's 2014 artist album "Unified", "Rubicon" is a supercharged contemporary trancer.

Debuted by Above & Beyond at their sold out Group Therapy 100 celebrations, the feverish energy of the Extended Mix comes courtesy of a rich orchestral body and relentless groove. Spiralling into a down-right-dirty double drop and haunting piano top line, "Rubicon" is the perfect blend of vintage trance influences and the current electronic dance sound.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Super8 & Tab considered to be two of the brightest minds in the trance music scene. Whenever it happened to experience them  Live they always deliver great atmosphere and the crowd seems to be 100%  dedicated as they came just for Super8 and Tab. One of the tracks that manage to stand out from their latest album on Anjunabeats is their collaboration with the equally talented 7 Skies. The track Rubicon is a crowd pleaser guaranteed without any shade of doubt. The foundation of it is very strong pounding techy crunchy modern groove that may define as progressive house while the pulsating electrified bassline drives the track forward. Chopped vocal samples, playful effects and club energy that simple moves and shakes the walls and the roof of any club. Hints of the epic synthy hook appear to tease the listener and get the clubbers excited waiting for the melodic heaven to come. The breakdown is dominated from the beautiful romantic piano melody while variety of synthy plucks and slow lazy breakbeat groove underneath raise the heat and keep the hands in the air. You are in a state of total relaxation and calmness but very soon the drum roll comes in to lead the track to its full on hands in the air climax with the main euphoric theme pushing your adrenaline level to the limit. Its interesting that this theme is not applied on the breakdown and is revealed in its entirety in the climax. The piano melody and the epic classical music strings are coming back to lead the track to its concluding sequence. Rubicon defines the current Anjunabeats sound and is definitely a fantastic starting point for the new year that the much anticipated Above and Beyond album will be released. #PureGold Love It
