REVIEW: Markus Schulz - Scream 2: Collected Remixes Part 2 out on Coldharbour recordings

A story which has been chronicled across no less than 30 months, yielding two albums, multiple singles and countless moments for fans to cherish forever, Markus Schulz's Scream outlay reaches its crescendo, with the second of two packages - the Scream Collected Remix series.

Four new remixes are on offer, with each Scream chapter represented with two tracks. From Scream 2, Colombian ascending star KhoMha takes on Liz Horsman's vocal efforts on Lord Knows, while Miami duo Grube & Hovsepian undertake the task of Make You Fall, featuring the vocals of iconic vocal diva CeCe Peniston. Both are provided with a dark and energetic twist, whilst maintaining the soul presented in the originals.

And from the first Scream album, the title track featuring Ken Spector gets the full on uplifting treatment from German Alex M.O.R.P.H., while Sarah Howells' delicate tones on Tempted are given a fresh take by New York native Mike Saint-Jules. Both remixes provide a fresh take on tracks already immersed in the conscience of many.

It has been an incredible journey, but the Scream story is complete. With the remixes on offer, it's a fine note to conclude.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Coldharbour recordings presents 4 excellent remixes from tracks taken from the latest Markus Schulz album Scream 2. Four incredible reworks that add new fresh life to the tracks that got already the support of top djs including Armin van Buuren in his ASOT radio show. First of all the beloved KhoMha who remixes Lord Knows featuring Liz Horsman. The talented Colombian producer deliver the goods as he applies techy bouncy grooves, sharp aggressive basslines and magnificent melodic breakdown that allows the exceptional dynamic vocal with the empowering lyrics to shine through and make the crowd sing a long. His drop is maddening ready for mainstage dj sets with freaked out basslines and intensity levels to the maximum. The beloved duo Grube & Hovsepian remixes stunningly Make You Fall featuring the legendary CeCe Peniston on vocals. Their remix maybe labelled as progressive house but the only thing that is house in this track is the CeCe Peniston house diva vocals. The rest of the track is full on progressive big room mainstage trancer at its best with tough parading drums, rough and furious basslines and most importantly cranking synthy lead that will raise the hair from your back straight away. Anthemic, epic and euphoric with great lyrics too. Third top remix comes from Alex M.O.R.P.H. one of the coolest and most lovable trance djs in the trance scene. His remix on  Scream featuring Ken Spector is a powerful full on uplifting euphoric hands in the air trancer in its most classic sense with great epic synths in the breakdown along with the brilliant vocals. His build up is mind boggling and the  climax is euphoric to the maximum with heavy stomping beats, pulsating basslines, trancy voices, acid layers, epic synths and underlying darkness and moodiness. Last but not least is Tempted remixed by Mike Saint-Jules. The always on great form USA based trance producer deliver an exceptional full on big room translation with electro infused basslines, sharp in your face pumping grooves and fantastic breakdown that introduce his various synthy plucks and the great Sarah vocal. The main synthy riff is larger than life and when it appears in the climax will be hard not to start jumping and screaming around. Playful, creative and sparkling with life and musicality is a remix not to be missed that targets the dancefloor. #PureGold Love It
