Joe Ashworth has marked himself out as one to watch over the past year with a string of underground cuts on Waze & Odyssey's Street Tracks label, notably his collaboration with Citizen, "Situation". He brings his textured, melodic sound to Anjunadeep for the first time with debut release "Rebound / Whatever Weather".
On "Rebound" he showcases a nuanced approach, deftly blending strong techno influences with a delicate ear for melody. The twinkling, sometimes discordant keys that rise and fall throughout demonstrate an enviable maturity in Joe's productions.
"Whatever Weather" is one for the dancefloor, revolving around an infectious bassline groove that rolls beneath crisp drums and more gorgeous flowing piano.

The latest EP surfacing on the beloved imprint is Ashworth with his outstanding double tracker Rebound and Whatever Weather. First of all is the quality cut Rebound. Deep melodic house anthem with strong electronic music elements and excellent arrangement of emotional piano melodies along with dark twisted basslines, chunky techy grooves, electronic synthy themes and chopped vocal samples that used more as an instrument rather than as voice. Relaxing, soothing production that deliver what its promises without going on the obvious pathway by attempting to find his own coherent language which can easily mesmerise his listeners and ignite them on the dancefloor! Second top track is Whatever Weather that gathers support from the usual suspects including advanced radio plays on BBC Radio 1. In contrast with the previous track on Whatever Weather his moves on the more traditional deep house territories by arranging an exceptional soundscape of thumping bouncy basslines, pounding techno infused grooves, classic house melodies, warm old school piano melodies, soulful female vocal snippets and variety of electronic synths along with the feeling of a live jazz band performing the track live.
