After picking up some firm support from the likes of Paul van Dyk and Markus Schulz with his track ‘The Werks’ along with Rauri, CBM is back, this time teaming up with UK based Steve Haines to bring us ‘Memphis’, a more up tempo release for Perfecto Black which shows off its trancier, more driving side with this release.
Indian progressive producer Nakul Ambilkar aka SEQU3l gives us the first of the remixes on this pack, continuing his fine run of form after remixes for Iboga, Freegrant Music and OLD SQL and seeing support from Above & Beyond for his remix of Fluoro’s very own Future Disciple.
Up and coming talent Rise and Fall is on hand to give us the deeper side of progressive with a fantastic, more ‘traditional’ progressive house take.
Perfecto Black showing off its versatility within the progressive genre!
Dimitri Kechagias review: Perfecto Black is the brand new addition to Perfecto records family that manage already to gather support and recognition from the trance scene. The latest release on this top label comes from Steve Haines and CBM. Their track Memphis is a magnificent dark, moody, gloomy trancer of the highest quality. The bassline is haunting with psy trance infusions underneath, the kick is sharp and edgy while the melodic themes are coming and going by never being prominent or over the top. The track is upfront and can some even call it hands in the air without aiming though for those reactions. The same dark subtle territory touches Rise and Fall with classy composition that will make many heads turn towards the dj and wonder what is exactly this gem he is playing. Dark bubbly grooves, pumping pulsating bassline that drives the track forward with short breakdown that allows the melancholic synthy hooks to appear for a while and give excitement to the crowd. His track has influences from Gai Barone work and if you like Gai's sound you will adore this magical excursion into galaxy. SEQU3l is one of those young producers who gets influences from artists like Jerome Isma-Ae with his dark moody punchy sound. The track has drive, energy, intensity without being too melodic or euphoric. Deep pounding production that make you wanna dance straight away even if your feet is hard to keep you up. In his breakdown makes full application of the nice melodies and let them glow their fluorescence color for while until the kick to strike back for the full on climax that continues on the same deep but in your face context! #PureGold Love it
