REVIEW: Boom Jinx & Meredith Call - The Dark (Remixes) out on Anjunabeats

A fan favourite from Anjunabeats Volume 11 and Beatport chart topper, Boom Jinx and Meredith Call's "The Dark" now sees 2 contrasting remixes from label debutants, as Anjunabeats welcomes Kevin Wild, duo Judah and Spencer Brown to our ever growing family.

Having become a regular fixture on Group Therapy with a series of refined and emotive bootlegs, Paul Daniel Davis & Christopher Nelson, aka Judah, seemed the logical choice to rework such an intimate song. Long time friend of the family Kevin Wild joins them for an contemporary big room mix; surging chords and raucous low end thundering across the dance floor in Above & Beyond's late summer sets.

Dallas native Spencer Brown came from nowhere to take the ABGT record of the week crown back in April with his first release "Chalice"; the song going on to open many of Above & Beyond's Ibizan sets over the summer. Reminiscent of groove heavy works from Pryda and Jerome Isma-Ae, his slow burning remix is a hypnotic affair that continues to lead you down the rabbit hole. With only feint echoes of the original throughout, this is dark and dreamy club rework.

Dimitri Kechagias review: One of the biggest summer anthems and favourite for many trance fans worldwide is Boom Jinx collaboration with the beloved singer Meredith Call for the stunning beauty The Dark. Powerful progressive vocal trancer that inspires and encourages to not afraid of the dark and any other unpleasant situations. The remix package is the finest that you can wish for and will introduce the track to a whole new audience too. First of all comes the co-operation between Kevin Wild and Judah for the stunning epic progressive house version that is emotional and very energetic as well. Rough electrified basslines combined with chunky wonky groove while the breakdown is really deep with melancholic piano chords that highlight even more  Meredith's exceptional performance. The climax is full on hands in the air with euphoric synths, pumping groove and pulsating bassline that will make you shake and jump straight away. If you play mainstage festival sets and you search for quality cut that stands out this remix will serve your audience hunger. Spencer Brown with releases on AVICII's label Le7els provides the deeper moody progressive house meets trance version that is slowly building up its various soundlayers until to land on the atmospheric breakdown that is soaked with summery synthy plucks and the mesmerising Meredith vocals that calm your soul and awake your senses. The climax is full on hands in the air with the flexible pounding bassline leading the proceedings on the style that Jerome Isma-Ae pioneered and as it seems still influences the young generation of upcoming producers! TOP Remix EP that you should not miss, and you will not afraid of the dark any longer! #PureGold Love IT
