ADE 2014: De Marktkantine makes its debut at ADE's Festival

Club, theatre or food market; a special place makes its debut at ADE's Festival.

De Marktkantine in Amsterdam-West is a place full of history. The venue was built in 1936 for the market merchants association. In 1956 it became a theatre (Jacques Brel performed here twice) and in the 90s it turned into a club, that has had a big impact on the contemporary nightlife of Amsterdam, called Chez Marcanti Plaza. After the building was abandoned for four years it is now being brought back to life as a temporary project with a name that winks to the past. De Marktkantine (Market Cantine), with its rich history and artistic interior, could best be described as an industrial maze. This venue promises to be a cultural centre with room for theatre, workplaces for creative entrepreneurs, an American BBQ restaurant, fashion events, Sunday markets, concerts and master classes as well.

ADE Berlin Special: Still vor Talent x Katermukke 
De Marktkantine kicks off with Oliver Koletzki, Joris Delacroix, Niconé & Sascha Braemer, KlangKuenstler, Niko Schwind, Dirty Doering, Marcus Meinhardt, Madmotormiquel, Britta Arnold on Wednesday.

Next Monday’s Hangover presents: Pampa Records Showcase
On Friday Next Monday’s Hangover invites Pampa Records to De Marktkantine. DJ Koze, Robag Wruhme, Die Vögel, Alex Boman, Isolée, Applescal, Weval, David Douglas, Olaf Stuut and Some Chemistry will be playing.

Suol Showcase with Fritz Kalkbrenner, Chopstick & Johnjon, Tender Games and Meggy 
On Saturday you can party while listening to the above named artists. They will be supported by local Dutch talent, Arjuna Schiks, Some Chemistry and Mattheis.
