ADE 2014: 10 reasons to attend ADE Next on October 18.

Mad Decent, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, 2562, exclusive networking and workshop sessions and much more on October 18.

ADE's talent platform offers a broad program for next generation producers and DJs, featuring big name producers, top DJs and leading music industry professionals including managers, talent scouts and booking agents from around the globe. Tickets are available here. Not convinced yet? Here are 10 reasons why you should visit ADE Next:

1/ ADE Next presents a wealth of information on the inner workings of the music industry
ADE Next aims to boost your career and has all the weapons ready to do so! ADE Next’s Rough guide through the music industry brings together a team of experts from international artist management, concert booking, festival programing, public relations, communications, media, publishing and record labels to give you a full picture of the music industry as it works right now, tips and tricks from the key players and a complete perspective on what it takes to make it work in today’s do-it-yourself era.

2/ ADE Next invites the major players to tell their own, exclusive story
ADE Next tells you the most important stories of the year, straight from the source. Martin Garrix may be 18 years old, but his spectacular rise to fame with his breakthrough track Animals is already one of electronic music’s defining stories of the moment. After scoring an international Top 5 hit and selling over one million copies of the single in the US alone, his resume of collaborations is impressive. In this exclusive Q&A Garrix will talk about going from his bedroom to the biggest stages, setting up his international career, life on the road and in the studio and his view on the industry.

3/ ADE Next celebrates the special role Mad Decent plays on a global scale
This year at ADE Next we highlight the special role Mad Decent plays globally, by introducing the latest trends from underground club scenes everywhere to the entire world and influencing and changing the course of international pop music. In Mad Decent Going Dutch we focus on the unique relation between the US record label and the Dutch electronic music scene, that has resulted in US releases by progressive Dutch acts as Boaz van de Beatz, The Partysquad, Munchi, Yellow Claw and many more. With Mad Decent A&R Paul Devo, a veteran when it comes to scouting Dutch and other talent, Boaz van de Beatz, The Partysquad, Dutch music writer Saul van Stapele and others we discuss the very special and productive relationship between one US record label and artists from a relatively small national scene, and its effect on the entire electronic music scene.

4/ ADE Next shows you how the number one DJ’s get things done in the studio
We have the biggest names in the industry all in one place during Amsterdam Dance Event. They will show you how they get things done. Hardwell, the current #1 at DJ Mag’s DJ Top 100-list, will join us for an epic two-hour long (!) production workshop. He will take one of his tracks apart and build it up again in an exclusive opportunity to learn the craft from one of its most successful ambassadors! We also got Dave Huismans (2562, A Made Up Sound), one of the most consistently innovative artists in contemporary electronic music, showcasing his forward-thinking, often wildly idiosyncratic take on composition and beat-programming, with a special emphasis on sampling techniques and arrangement, drawing on his own work during the special conference session In the studio with 2562.

5/ ADE Next has all the information you need on that dream of international stardom
Artists will always dream about the biggest stage there is: the world. Important markets to reach this stage are the UK and the US. In our panel #1 in the UK Charts! we discuss one of the most prestigious high lights possible in any artists career, a solid #1 hit in the United Kingdom. Even in an era where the significance of charts may be declining, most artists still crave for this special spot and in our panel Martin Garrix, Basto, Oliver Heldens and others who made it to #1 in the UK will recount their journey to having that number one record in the UK. In USA: The Promised Land? we discuss success stories, less successful stories, do’s and don’ts and in effect a virtual roadmap of things you should and should not due in pursuit of success in this potentially highly rewarding market with Eelko van Kooten (CEO Spinnin’ Records, NL), Jes Elliot (SXSW, US) and many others.

6/ ADE Next also focuses on the human side of the international DJ boom
For us the DJ as a superstar is not as new as for others, for we have had a continuous history of more than 30 years of dance music, witnessing superstars like Tiësto and Armin van Buuren putting in work night after night for long periods to get where they are now. We have also witnessed a new generation of young DJ’s make it to the top in no time at all. At ADE Next we take a step back to evaluate the current state of the superstar DJ. Not just the money to be made but the possible pitfalls when it comes to health and finding that mental and physical balance in your DJ career.

7/ ADE Next is the place where talent meets opportunity
As talented as you are, it takes attracting attention from the right people in the industry, networking with your peers and building upon previous experiences to build a successful career. ADE Next is the place where talent meets opportunity. We got Lucien Foort with insights on surviving as a DJ and producer in his ADE opening talk and a lot of practical information on how to really profit from all the networking and other business opportunities offered by Amsterdam Dance Event and ADE Next. We also offer you the chance to discuss your track and career with jury members of Vinylized, the leading competition for dance producers from The Netherlands.

8/ ADE Next lets you meet al the professionals, all the time…
Probably the most exciting item in the entire ADE Next program is not even on the program. It’s in between the program items, in the hallways, the cafeteria, the street in front of the Felix Meritis, or on one of the stairs to the many conference rooms. During ADE Next the entire venue and its surroundings are filled to maximum capacity with people who work professionally in the electronic music scene and are looking for new talent and contacts and who came to share knowledge, ideas, business propositions etc. It’s a wealth of information waiting for you to tap into by just being there.

9/ …and makes sure they do listen to your demo
It is always good to send out your demo and wait for a response, sure. As it would be wonderful to win that national lottery once, because, well, you can use the money, right. But at ADE Next we don’t gamble. We make sure the professionals are ready for you and they will listen to your demo on the spot and critique it on the spot during our famous Demolition panel and Sena presents: Demopitch. As long as you make sure you bring your best material possible, we make sure your demo makes it to the ears of the people that matter.

10/ There is only one ADE Next
The last reason to visit ADE Next this year is the most straightforward reason. Any upcoming music professional or artist with plans to make it in the electronic music industry, should be at ADE Next, because it is simply the only conference in the world with so many decision makers, DJ’s and other music professionals at one spot at the same time, all dedicated to sharing their knowledge with the next generation and all looking for new opportunities. Let’s go!
