Tomorrowland festival took place at the recreational park De Shorre in Boom near Antwerp in Belgium. There was a unique gathering of electronic dance music lovers which started in 2005 with handful of attendees, and the support of great DJ’s, has developed through the last decade into the globally known festival that you should visit at least once in your life! Electronic dance music is a wide category which includes a variety of styles such as House, Trance, Techno, Breakbeat, Hardstyle and many more. All of these are represented in the Tomorrowland grounds on fifteen stages surrounded by the most up for it crowd from every corner of the globe. Tomorrowland is truly heaven for anyone who wishes to find out what is going in the underground dance music scene at the moment. The most prominent DJ’s from every respected music genre are booked to spin their favourite tracks and keep you updated with the most happening music and artists in their scene.
For instance, if your favourite style is Trance music, you will pass the biggest part of the festival on the Trance Addict stage. Great DJ’s & producers like MaRLo, Omnia, Jorn Van Deynhoven, Andrew Rayel, Paul Oakenfold, Max Graham, Protoculture and of course Sean Tyas, select the most popular tracks from every single sub style, such as Progressive Trance, Vocal Trance, Big Room Trance, Electro Trance, Uplifting Trance, Psy Trance, Tech Trance and every other super small sub style that you may think of. One of those DJ’s who smashed it by staying faithful to the style that he is well known for is Sean Tyas. The DJ, producer, label owner and radio host prepared the most unexpected set that surprised many, and gave them shivers from head to toe. The interview with Sean Tyas which you can watch right here was filmed just before his DJ set on the second weekend of Tomorrowland. I'm glad that he replied to all our questions in a such open-minded manner, and he proved that he truly adores Trance music, and is very excited when he talks about it.
First question was about his DJ set at the first weekend of Tomorrowland, and he gave us his opinion about Tomorrowland’s phenomenal success and global invasion. Next I asked about his current single at Black Hole recordings ‘Unleash’, and I wondered if he will follow up the release of the original with a remix package. The big news is of course his collaboration with Black Hole, and I asked him about his relationship with the Dutch label, and how Black Hole influences his decisions about the tracks that will be released on his own Tytanium recordings imprint.
He reveals the forthcoming releases on his label, and we discuss the quality level of the Trance tracks that end up on the release schedule of the label. I ask if there is a possibility of producing vocal Trance once again after his top collaboration with Fisher. Part of our discussion is his influential radio show ‘Tytanium Sessions’ that is moved to D.I. fm and continues to grow in popularity. I wondered if there is any future for internet radio stations now that they have to compete with services like Spotify. Sean in his answer was very much in favour of internet radio stations future. He speaks about his new studio at his brand new house in Switzerland. He mentions the current influences in his productions, and I asked him to give us some hints about his DJ set over the second weekend of Tomorrowland. Finally he outlines the places that he will perform in the future including Ibiza and Cyprus, and he give us his message for the viewers of this interview. Highly recommend you watch it!
Many thanks to Sean Tyas for his time to record this interview.
Many thanks to Debby Wilmsen & ID&T Belgium for the press accreditation.
