ADE 2014: The ADE line-up of Studio 80, one of Amsterdam's most intimate venues features a variety of styles and forms.

Live-acts and concerts may not be the first things that come to mind when one thinks of Studio 80. That is about to change. In the past eight ADE years Studio 80 welcomed mostly big names like Joris Voorn, Chris Liebing and Maya Jane Coles to the heart of Amsterdam's lively city center. But with a brand new team, consisting of Tessa Nijdam, Pieter Willems and Xander Koster, comes a new direction. Creative director Nijdam explains: "Studio 80 is broadening its horizon to a broader range of sounds that is more experimental and underground. Instead of established names the club now focuses on upcoming international and local talent. As a result you would go to Studio 80 because you want to discover new music instead of wanting to see a big artist."

Studio 80's new vision will obviously be reflected in the ADE programming. Which doesn't mean strong connections with partners such as Watergate and secretsundaze will be forgotten. Hence, this year’s line-up is a balanced mixture of innovative, quality artists and upcoming talent. AUS Music, Crème Organization, L.I.E.S., Keinemusik, R&S Records, Apollo Records, Tomorrow is now, Kid! and My Love Is Underground will bring their top names to Studio 80's dance floor. Nijdam: "ADE is the moment when the entire industry’s focus lies on what all Amsterdam based clubs are doing. This makes it a perfect moment to show what Studio 80 stands for, what the new team wants and where they are going."

Have a look at the first glimpse of Studio 80's ADE schedule:

Studio 80 is kicking of Amsterdam Dance Event with a concert! R&S Records has invited Blue Daisy for a live performance on Wednesday October 15th. Those not familiar with this London producer (born Kwesi Darko) , please check out his music as soon as possible. Everything from his 2009 debut EP 'Space Ex' on Black Acre (best new track on Pitchfork), his cooperation with Tokimonsta that followed to his first album in 2011, his remarkable 'Dahlia Black' project (Fuck a rap song!) and his recent Boiler Room session - it's all off the hook.

This R&S Records LIVE show marks the start of a series of concerts at Studio 80, focussed on a variety of electronic live-acts. However be warned this first edition is not for the faint-hearted amongst us.

After AUS Music and Studio 80 started a collaboration last year - with a couple of smashing label nights as a result – it’s probably no surprise we decided to invite the AUS Music crew over for a late night Thursday ADE session. This UK take-over will see the likes of old and new friends behind the decks, guided by none other then label owner Will Saul. Looking back at our previous editions we can’t wait to see what these lads have in store for us this time…
