REVIEW: Tim Iron - Mermaids EP out on IAMPHOENIX / Alter Ego records

IAMPHOENIX artist Tim Iron takes us on a trip into his own wonderland with a four track EP designed to capture and awe. Keeping true to form with his hard hitting basslines and incredible floaty melodies, Iron's new tracks tell a story that will get everyone lost in their own dream land and of course, moving on the dance floor.

Starting slightly deeper with Hope.Belief.Love, gradually progressing into his bigger room sound with Mermaids and Lumberjack, to finally end with a big bang in The Treasure. We are excited to present to you a more intimate and complete package of this impressive emerging artist. Turn it up.

Dimitri Kechagias review: IAMPHOENIX is the excellent progressive label headed by dj & producer Kenneth Thomas. The latest release on the well known imprint is the top Mermaids EP by Tim Iron. It includes not only one or two but four mega tracks to pump up your soundsystem and drive your crowd insane. Mermaids is an excellent hybrid of progressive trance with progressive house. The Deadmau5 progression is present here with wide variety of melodic synthy layers that will hypnotise your senses and will definitely manage to crawl under your skin and touch your soul. Breakbeat section in the breakdown with heavenly voices and melodic synthy hooks that some of them are more deep and esoteric and others are more euphoric and uplifting. The climax is full on hands in the air with positive optimistic synths that explode like fireworks in the night! Superb production that manage to balance the various influences and come up with highly personal Tim Iron sound.  Hope.Belief.Love adopts more electro infused bassline and chunky grooves while on top he decorates it with heavenly vocal samples and euphoric synthy melodies. The breakdown is relaxing and very smooth with classical orchestral music influences and superb main synthy hook that leads the track to the full on jump and dance climax that will excite the listeners and keep them very happy and optimistic for sure. Third is the fantastic The Treasure that will definitely keep you entertained as well. It's great mixture of epic prog house with melodic trance that starts quite low profile, very groovy and smooth but after the main breakdown becomes more upfront and anthemic so definitely can be used as nice bridge between more deep and more energetic prog trancers. Last but not least The Lumberjack is the track that will do great on epic progressive house sets as the bassline is more sharp and punchy and the kick more full on. The euphoric synthy hooks are colourful, positive and optimistic perfect to unite the dancefloor and keep them entertained. #PureGold Love iT
