REVIEW: Wavecandy & Giancarlo - Champion incl Hotlife remix on Magik Muzik / Black Hole recordings

1. Original Mix
2. Hotlife Remix

Dutch group Wavecandy teams up with fellow Dutchy Giancarlo for their brand new release on Magik Muzik. ‘Champion’ definitely is a winner with its catchy rhythm, uplifting beat and electronic sounds. You can already picture yourself dancing on that huge party. Up for remix duties is Bulgarian fellow Hotlife who managed to pump up the beat even more in his progressive mix.

Wavecandy is a Dutch collective that has started from a passion for music and creativity by Omar Anoep, together with Gino Hart. Thanks to their passion Wavecandy is now a lifestyle with a group of artists, lots of creativity, music and a passion for fashion. At the moment Wavecandy exists of 3 people Omar Anoep (DJ/Producer), Henry X (DJ/Co-Producer) and Kris Jana (Singer/Songwriter).

Giancarlo, born and raised in Amsterdam, became inspired to be a DJ/producer by 3 of his good friends and the rest is history. The promoters of the Supperclub Cruise discovered his talent and he soon made his debut. He created his unique sound with deep, funk, progressive and latin influences. Giancarlo already spinned the decks in some famous Dutch venues such as Escape Amsterdam and Beachclub Vroeger and was the opening act for fellows such as Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and Chuckie.

Dimitri Kechagias review: Magik Muzik is in the place and presents the brand new festival house Godzilla size production Champion by Wavecandy & Giancarlo. The original mix is a powerful energetic super pumping progressive house meets dutch house banger. Aggressive pulsating basslines, rough and super sharp kicks while on the breakdown feel good uplifting synths are introduced before we go for a wild ride on the massive old school dirty dutch drop with swinging rough basslines, pumping kicks and some melodic layers as well. The second breakdown is equally blissful and the final drop is even more euphoric with the feel good melody upon the heavy raw foundation. Champion has all the right elements needed to ignite straight away and entertain huge crowds who love maddening sleazy  beats for hot sweaty days and nights.  Hotlife climbs higher in the ladder with any great production he does and his remix on Champion is absolutely mouthwatering. He follows the arrangement of progressive house anthems successfully. The main difference with the original is that sounds a bit harder and more in your face. He adopts hardstyle basslines and cranking kicks that bang hard until to reach the breakdown that the main synthy riff is replayed with various synthy plucks to memorise it easily while the drop is freaked out and booming as the big crowds demand to get in order to experience madness.  #IbizaAnthem #FestivalAnthem Love iT
