There aren't many producers whose releases garner as much attention and appraisal as Dutchman Rex Mundi. One of the most cherished members of the Coldharbour family, he returns with two tracks that will work the mind as well as the body.
Continually amazing Coldharbour followers with his diversity in production, Static Room has tantilised many clubbers for an extended period, thanks to its continual inclusion in Markus Schulz's famed solo sets. Hypnotic and haunting, the track stars in both warmup and afterhours settings.
Macchina brings a raw electro-influenced bassline to the fore, accompanied with an intensive break of soaring energy. Both tracks continue to star on the Global DJ Broadcast radio show.
Both tracks demonstrate that Rex isn't one to rest on his laurels. Part of the excitement is what will he conjure next?
Dimitri Kechagias review: Coldharbour recordings, the celebrated worldwide record label by Markus Schulz presents one of the hottest releases for 2014 so far! The beloved Dutch producer Rex Mundi is back and does what he knows best. Deep inspiring progressive trance that caters for the big rooms with his own very personal style and sound. Rex Mundi continues to follow his own path without falling in the trap of the trendy sounds and what sells at beatport trance charts. Rex Mundi is an artist who has his own vision and personality that shines through his compositions. First of all is the 9 minutes long epic Static Room. His sound can be described as deep pumping trance with haunting brooding basslines that simply sound fantastic in large sound systems along with tough drums and organic percussion. He applies some intresting female vocal samples and hypnotic synthy layers that drive the track forward. Don't expect to hear the huge synthy lead that will erupt the dancefloor as the power on Rex Mundi's track is their esoteric dynamism and inspirational spiritual value of them. Its one of those track that demand to close our eyes and follow the rhythm like Shamans i.e."While performing the ritual, the shaman (witch doctor) dances and enters into a trance." The 2nd top track Macchina is energetic deep progressive trancer with electrified freaky bassline, pumping bouncy kick and brilliant cinematic synths and strings that support the listener to trancend to another higher level and highlights even more the esoteric dramatic tone of the track. His climax sounds rough, hard and edgy so it will not be surprise that even open minded progressive techno djs support this top release! Rex Mundi is capable to expand our minds and perception of trance #PureGold Love iT
