REVIEW: Nifra - Athena out on Coldharbour recordings

March 2014 marked a very proud moment for the incredibly talented Nikoleta Frajkorova. Regarded as one of the best female DJs and producers in our scene today, the spotlight shone throughout her performance in her home country of Slovakia, as the Transmission extravaganza travelled outside of Prague for the first time. It was due reward for her ascension through the ranks, yielding previous anthems such as Ready and Dark Harbour. At Transmission, Nifra’s latest weapon was unveiled.

Having shared that Transmission stage with Coldharbour boss Markus Schulz, and following it up with an appearance alongside Paul van Dyk, demand for Nifra’s talents continues to increase. Athena has certainly aided her rapport, adding another Coldharbour peak-time anthem to the library. Supported by Markus throughout his Scream 2 Bus Tour and beyond, the track’s melody strikes an addictive effect, complimented with a bassline that means business.

As Ibiza season approaches, Athena will boom across the hallowed walls of Amnesia on Sunday nights. Athena is an essential for your playlist, as Nifra’s name continues to blossom.

Dimitri Kechagias  review: The highly influential record label Coldharbour recordings is responsible for launching the successful careers of many great talents around the world. Coldharbour is a truly global family that men and women producers have the artistic freedom to express themselves in the best possible way. The beloved Nifra who is considered as one of the most upcoming talents presents the magnificent production Athena. The track is a massive Godzilla size power booster of the highest quality with super tight groove, solid thumping dark basslines and fantastic atmosphere that very early on grabs your attention and enter your mind to its dynamic microworld. Energetic and highly contagious the track very soon allows some of its epic themes to permeate all over your body. The breakdown starts really mysterious and dark with the main synthy hook to get replays from various synthy plucks in order the listener to learn it by heart and get totally and utterly infected from it. The climax is very rough and in your face so expect the crowd to go ballistic and observe the bodies pumping up and down with hands in the air and wide satisfied smiles in their faces! Nifra is doing what she knows best and Athena is a huge summer trance anthem in the making! Just Imagine Markus Schulz splashing it in his dj set at Tomorrowland!  #PureGold Love IT
