REVIEW: Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab "Satellite" (ilan Bluestone Remix) out on Anjunabeats

A timeless favourite and Above & Beyond's most established release under their OceanLab guise (alongside Justine Suissa), "Satellite" celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Having stormed the UK charts and Radio 1 playlist in 2004, the time was right for a rework for the modern dance floor and here it comes courtesy of Anjuna man of the moment, ilan Bluestone.

Chronicling the difficulties of long distance love, "Satellite" is a poignant tale, delivered by the deep and emotive voice of Justine. Having received the nod from the don of dance music Pete Tong for his recent "Big Ben" EP, ilan Bluestone's rework keeps the frenetic energy of the original at its heart; a scintillating groove offsetting the rich uplifting orchestral breakdown. With a crashing crescendo and euphoric synth surge, ilan has captured the spirit that made OceanLab the soundtrack to so many summers.

Dimitri Kechagias review: There is one voice in trance that stands out with her performance and that is Justine Suissa, the voice of the Above & Beyond  project Oceanlab that the world wishes to come back once again with brand new album after the seminal and highly influential Sirens of The Sea. The biggest hit of Oceanlab is the magnificent Satellite. The Above & Beyond classic trance mix actually sounds still so perfect for the pure trance dancefloors of 2014. Of course the world is moving forward and is changing as well so Satellite after 10 years deserves brand new version and the talent that can handle this very difficult task is the beloved and absolutely super talented ilan Bluestone. He transforms the uplifting original into a very dynamic big room trance meets epic prog house remix that mainstage djs will find very easy to incorporate in their sets indifferent if they play strictly trance or progressive house. ilan adopts his bouncy tough techy groove melted with dark deep driving basslines while on top he adds the stunning vocals by Justine who simply touch your heart really deep. He allows the voice to stand bare upon the dark foundation and lands on the breakdown with memorable hair raising piano chords, airy pads, warm cinematic strings and liquid breaks underneart the beloved vocals.  Then he builds up the track towards the full on hands in the air climax that is very energetic with huge  synthy layers  of pleasure and chopped parts of the vocals. The result is an intense experience that will move mind, body and soul! Expect to sing a long and jump as high as you can with Above & Beyond who will drop it at their mainstage sets at Ultra Europe and Tomorrowland! #PureGold Love iT
