One of the most prolific artists on Anjunadeep, Matt Lange, returns with perhaps his finest work to date, the "Staccato EP".
Following on from an exceptional three tracker earlier this year, and remixes of Above & Beyond and Lane 8, Matt showcases his sound in style, spanning deep, tech and progressive house sounds across three new tracks.
Lead track "Staccato" is a highlight from Above & Beyond's new Anjunabeats Volume 11 compilation, and sees Matt at his anthemic best. Trademark driving grooves lay the foundation for orchestral string melodies, which rise and swirl in a majestic breakdown. Sure to go down as a label classic.
"Ether" is yet another example of Matt's technical wizardry, fusing soulful, emotive piano melodies with atmospheric vocals in his own inimitable style.
Third track "Underscore" explores deeper territories, coupling subtle progression with an infectious percussive groove, rounded off with a delicate combination of haunting vocals and distant melodies.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle as Matt Lange music for me has the groove and depth of progressive house but the synthy work and the warm that radiates is very trance oriented. His latest EP exemplifies his versatile sound that can be played in wide variety of dj sets. The title track Staccato is a magnificent deep melodic dreamy production that drives forward with deep throbbing basslines while on top classical music influenced melodies are added to add even more depth and substance to the final piece. The cinematic strings and the various soundlayers create the 3 dimensional sound illusion that simply make you feel like being inside the track and not being just a detached listener. Inspiring melodic themes that travel your mind to far away places and mysterious spaces. Staccato is absolutely high class future Anjunadeep classic beyond words without doubts. Ether is an even more deep production that adopts the chunky playful groove, the twisted deep freaked out bassline while on the breakdown warm piano chords and chopped vocal samples added along with blissful luscious synths and ambient music influences.
